Everyone saying how bad the Eagles are probably didn't watch the game on the weekend. They were very impressive early. They had a really effective zone setup.

If we played like we did on Saturday, and Richmond played like they did on Thursday we would have slaughtered them as well.

It's funny that most Carlton supporters aren't taking into account just how poorly Richmond played. Yes Carlton were good, but Richmonds performance was easily the worst of the round.

You can only play the team that runs out. If Carlton won by a couple of goals then fair enough, but it was a thrashing, Richmonds skill errors were largely influenced by the pressure Carlton were applying.

Agreed

Richmond players couldn't string more than 2 kicks and a handpass together for majority of the game and I honestly think any team would have smashed them with that pathetic effort. Game was over in the start of the second quarter. All Carlton proved is they can score quickly, never had any pressure on them so that they needed to maintain possession or lock down the game.

If Travis plays as well as he did last week, we're in with a big chance. I have a feeling we're going to miss Brennan but.

Going to be a cracker!

Put some dough on Lions by less than 39.5 and Magpies over 39.5 which was paying just under $10. Good odds there.

What's the point in bringing up Carlton's history at Telstra/Etihad/Docklands/Colonial Stadium? We were in our darkest period in our clubs history, and everyone whipped us.

We are a much better team, now.

Looking forward to the game very much. Should be a cracking game. Go Blues.

You might want to actually read the post he replied to.

Celtic said that Brown and Bradshaw aren't the force they were 5 years ago.

Last years goal tally says otherwise.

And I was pointing out that even though they are still a force, it doesn't guarantee Brisbane getting over the line, as evidenced in the Round 21 match. In no shape or form was I agreeing with the statement made by CP.

i think carlton by 18-30 points.
last time the teams met carlton prevailed at the gabba, the match before brisbane started out on fire kicking 8 goals in the first quarter but carlton outscored brisbane for the rest of the game.
blues pressure should be the difference in this one, but in saying that im having my money on bris <39.5 because i always bet against carlton.

Carlton's imposing 25% win record at TD hardly suggests they're experts there either.

Not sure why people are thinking the Lions are so bad at Docklands. Statistically, its our best away ground behind Football Park (i think..)

I think it'll be a shoot out. Id be putting money on the total scores being 220+.

Is Dayne Beams playing?

His form warrants it, but I don't know if MM will be bringing him in against the Dees, it wouldn't seem likely. I'm expecting an ANZAC day debut, or one against your mob. He likes to unleash them onto the big stage.

You'd be a very rich man then;)

I agree, though Ade v Stk is a bit tricky, I've gone with Adelaide. How do you rate the Eagles chances? I've tipped them:eek:

Well after how much they ****ed me over with last years tipping, I'll probably never tip us again. :p

In all seriousness, I'm not really sure how to look at this game. I think we are in with a chance but Ports midfield may just be too strong. We also need to find a way to stop Motlop who usually has a day out against us. Although if we play like we did last weekend then it will be very tight.

If we play like we did last time we played Port at Subi, we will get flogged again.

All depends on which West Coast shows up. Which is extremely frustrating.

Really looking forward to this game. I think it's going to be a cracker.
If I where anyone, I would definitely "NOT" put any money on this game.
I expect both these teams to be playing finals.

I agree, I wouldn't put money on this game either.

If we are down from last week and Brisbane kill it then we could lose, I can't see it happening by a lot but it's always possible.

More than likely we'll win comfortably and I think last year showed and in Round 1, we can put bursts on like almost no other team and get a heap of goals quickly - at the Docklands it is probably easier to do that too so it could blow out.

But it's not the sort of game that I'd call a lock for any bet

I think that's good value. I'm tipping the Lions. Just cause their players don't have the hype that surrounds the Blues, doesn't mean they aren't as good.

Forward line is better.
Backline is better.
Midfield still has Power, Black (will he play?)
Decent rucks.

They should win.
