% is important, but are we realistically any chance of catching the other teams anyway?

Take the win, played well at times.

Keep winning and % doesn't matter
Agree, we aren't catching up to the 130+ percentage teams unless they have a lot of heavy losses (in which case, we'll beat them on wins). We only need to compete with hawthorn and norf on percentage.

Really really good contested footy and defensive game. We really held up defensively and that was something i was nervous about. Same with not having Libba or Dahl in the contest. They're monsters but we managed to rough them up without them.

Clay is epic. should've had 5 goals but he was really good. he brings an extra dimension to the forward line.

Koby was good and tough. His first quarter was absolutely off the chain. Very much did his job out there i just hope he gets a good run at it. wian mate it's his second game back from injury, and it was a decent one, just chill mate.

Daniel may've been the only player not to totally f*** up with the ball.

Stringer was dogs***. Hope he's ok though.

Toyd had a very encouraging game! was great in the ruck, his hands around the ground were good. Couple of great pack contests, nice goal, nice i50 to Clay.

Macrae pretty good again. Does a lot right he does.Loved one of his i50 kicks to Redpath.

Biggs our best rebounding defender. The other two were a bit meh. Specifically JJ. Biggs always bobs up with a nice defensive play here and there too. Has this nice spring and length to him, he defended a three on one really well at one stage in the last.

Wood was dominant, and he, Boyd and Moz typically held up our D really well.

Really fuarking sloppy game from just about everyone. If it wasn't so common for us this year i'd blame the conditions, but it's been pretty common. I'm starting to believe that might be what hurts us down the stretch of this year

Game clear in the top 4
We have saints next week
Cats play crows
Giants play port in Adelaide

As long as we keep doing the job top 4 there to grab,

Wow those other games so important. Ports starting to find some form. Hope they hurt the plastics. Adelaide are going to finish top 2 anyway so hopefully they can keep the hurt on the cats.

We are in a pretty good place as long as we keep turning up. Boyd's flexibility helped today. Still waiting for him to own a game up forward one day but it helped having him in the team.

Hear what you are saying, but any 80 point win which isn't unrealistic to expect given our scoring shots would have got us near 124%. Others near us are 130ish. It would have got us within striking distance given we will hopefully have some big wins against Bombers and Freo the last few games.

So yeah, I think it's important

This guy walks past and slaps your significant other on the ass, what do you do?

Clay Smith adds so much to this team. We've all been worried about how some of our midfielders who rest forward aren't natural forwards- well he is one. We've all been moaning about how we get outmarked so easily. He doesn't get outmarked, even when he's heavily outsized. He could've had a huge bag tonight if he'd had a bit of luck with posters and the running too far call. He's just such an animal in the contest as well. He'll beat multiple opponents, whether on the ground or in the air. His forward pressure is immense as well.

And here I wake up to watch the last five minutes of the game and am happy to see another win, but I've been warned about watching a replay of our second half... :( How will I be able to get back to sleep now? Ruiners! :p

Wallis always steps up when Libba goes down. Loved his game tonight and capped it off with 3 goals. Came on here to specifically mention Dunkley and how comfortable he looked out there. Played a lot more midfield time than his last crack at senior footy and found the ball with ease. That's his game and he's started translating it to AFL level already. Wasn't a super exciting game but was one that we never looked like losing. Suns just couldn't make any ground. Nice to coast to a win up in the heat of Cairns. Hopefully Stringer is alright and we can move on to next week.

We won't be putting sides away until we start consistently kicking goals that should be kicked. It'll be pretty disappointing if we finish the year at 6th instead of, say, 3rd, because of %.

But they got done what needed to be done tonight. GC were never really in it, got a 40 point win, kind of cruised through it. Definitely should have won by more. We do have a couple more games left this season where they'll get another chance to try and demonstrate the ability to truly put teams away. The backline is incredibly composed, a couple of our mids are, but sometimes other parts of the team let down the hard work done by those guys.
