JJ’s last few minutes were awesome. Totally deserves a spot
If Weightman is out it’s a no brainer. His defensive effort forward is great. Just doesn’t have Cody’s smarts and reliability in front of goal, but with VDM and JJ forward there is a lot of pace and effort in the forward line.

I don't know why anyone seriously engages with the sooky lala umpiring nuffs on the main board. It's a losing battle, trying to discuss it logically with them. It's the same with conspiracy nutjobs. You can't change their minds. I'd recommend just mocking them and enjoying the tasty salt.

Would think dogs should not have to quarantine by mid week, they were in Tas for 8 days or so, by Wednesday or Thursday they would have done 14 days and really should be allowed some more freedom
They’ll be quarantining probably the rest of the way, at least confined to a resort complex. They’re in WA, no chance they’ll be getting any freedom.

There was a kick in late on that Daniel ran about 25m after playing on that wasn't paid, but would have taken the boldest of bold umpires to pluck it out after Daniel would have done that 50 times this season without being pinged
Similarly the last goal which Zac Bailey kicked to get them back level. He collected it about 3 metres inside the 50m arc and kicked it from maybe 25m out. I'm not suggesting he should have been pinged as it would have been very harsh and the same thing happens regularly without a whistle being blown, but it's funny how these things are never brought up for the losing team.

Assume his wife and kid were up in Brisbane so must have been a tough couple of days if he couldn’t see them. Certainly a weird vibe the whole game.

Yeah I reckon if the family were so near yet so far that would have affected him. He hasn’t shied away from conceding anxiety can get the better of him. A couple of handball attempts looked like his muscles were so tense he barely hit them. The distance away may get him back. Might need to call in Tommy Boyd for a chat.

You’re right. I apologise for venturing into that cesspool this morning.

I’m out now. No more.

Same here.

I thought the bad calls were:

- Dunkley being pinged for in the back with about 5 minutes to go (I think?)

- No holding the ball against Dalein the last minute. It’s not a deadset howler, but I would’ve paid it.

- Bontempelli goal overturned. No evidence. Shocking call.

- Deliberate OOB against Daniel. Just disgraceful.

The free to English before the VanDerMeer winning point was technically there, but I’d have been pissed off if that was paid against us at that stage.

At the end of the day, it was neck and neck virtually all game, and Brisbane had their chances to win it independent of the decisions that went against them.
The English one was a clear a definite free . You can’t allow ruckman to shepherd the other out by using their knees it’s a clear free

The last Zac Bailey goal he would have run too far too.

Especially when you miss the hitout and/or take your eyes off the ball (still would have been a free if he did either, just those elements removed all doubt).

Quite possibly one of the dumbest free kicks I've seen given away. Scores level and 75 seconds left.

Yep I’m not normally a fan of ruck frees but that one stood out like the proverbial

He actually had some really good ones but just keep it to yourself
….Keep what to myself? The facts? He was trailing behind McInerney most of the night. They got 2-3 straight goals just because McInerney could smack it straight out of the centre bounce with no contest.

Im not saying drop him immediately next week but we can’t keep him in long term just because he bumped Merrett over…

Having dealt with anxiety myself (including playing sport), I feel like I can recognise certain things. Obviously I don’t know Adam, but from what he’s said previously, I’d say he’s just stuck in the anxiety cycle at the moment. He wants to perform at his best in big games, particularly after being injured. He also sees the success the team is having, and like all players, he wants to feel a contributing part of that. So he places more pressure on himself to perform at his best and the anxiety just builds. Comes across as bad body language or disinterest when in fact it’s more a paralysis caused by performance anxiety.

Watch the replay closely

I'm not sure if this will be a popular opinion, but I actually feel sorry for Fagan. He's a very good coach and he has been unlucky now in his past two Semi Final losses. In 2019, it took a Brent Daniels last gasp goal to eliminate the Lions, and it took a VDM behind in the dying stages last night to eliminate the Lions. Both losses easily could have gone either way.

Three consecutive top four finishes is a mighty effort after finishing bottom four in 2018.

2019: Brisbane lose in the finals to Richmond and GWS. Both Richmond and GWS go on to play in the Grand Final.
2020: Brisbane beat Richmond in week one, then lose to Geelong in week three. Both Richmond and Geelong go on to play in the Grand Final.
2021: Brisbane lose in the finals to Melbourne and the Bulldogs. ___________________________________________________________
