That De Luca bloke might be good. Hasn't had a chance to get fully sossed yet.

Will he come straight in?

If he does, laughable

A team chock full of high draft picks... but thank **** there’s a mid season draft this year so we can grab someone from the sticks to play for us

He’s got a leg injury. Won’t play for a few weeks

For the next 7 of their games, Carlton don't play a single team currently sitting inside the top 8. I wouldn't count our chickens just yet..

You're kidding.

They're absolutely struggling, they get pick one, and they pick up a dude who can't play?

FSM Carlolton you're ****ed. It's like SOS is running that place

Ditto the arrogance of getting concessions last year (the rights to pick up two mature players) and just trading them away, then expecting further concessions the following year.

When he will play: Expected to miss the next fortnight with a hamstring injury he picked up last week and will need at least two matches at the Northern Blues. If everything goes to plan, Deluca will be setting his sights on an AFL return against his former side at Optus Stadium in round 15, Carlton's first game after the bye.

It was a trade where we dropped 4 places for virtually no gain but more risk that another club could have taken a chance on Lever - why not just take pick 10 to the draft and then still get wigg in the 40's

We weren't trying to get Wigg, we were trying to get Braydon Maynard. We knew Lever would get through and hoped we could get high enough to get Maynard too, but Collingwood took him.

Yup, i want Shane McAdam in the team and smashing it by the time we play them

Don't know when they play Geelong but that would also be funny, having Kreuger play against them and smash them too

Ah, yes Maynard. Forgot about him. However there were no assurances a pick in the 30's was going to get him and it was still a risk to trade down our 1st for a bump in a few places on a mid range pick as there were no absolute guarantees Lever was still going to be there at our pick - it was a high risk trade

FR0GGY

The Carlton poster who didn't take this bet... is now claiming on the Carlton board that no one wanted to take him up on it.

There's a special kind of cognitive dissonance for this. Or maybe it's just #fakenews.

I'll bet for money!
Um... i *can't* work out how to put something in escrow, bragging rights?
Ha, no one wanted to take me up on it!

I was very quick to take that bet and have already spent my winnings in my mind.

As we near the end of part 1, we take a look back at the people who really made it happen.

There's a clear champion here - he's posted up a storm, he's given us Fun Facts, he's the guy that likes to get blotto

GROTTO

Well done mate! 1,095 out of 25 x 400 = 10,000 means more than 1 in every 10 posts are yours! Obscenely good work!

Also a special thanks to 70lethal for his 347 posts about how much Carlton/SOS etc suck, when you consider his lifetime posting is only 881 - basically 40% of all his posts!

Or he could very easily be another Poholke.... killing it in the lower league and not converting that to the AFL when given games..

Patrick Wilson is another one.. he
would be well and truely in the race for the Magarey medal in the sanfl at the moment... would he be guaranteed to be in the running for the Brownlow if he’d played every AFL game for the crows instead this year?... no, of course not..

You miss every shot you don't take. The recruiters usually have a very good idea of who each club is going to take, and likely only traded with Geelong after they told us they were keen on Nakia Cockatoo.

That is not the first time geelong schooled us at the trade table. Remember this:

https://adelaidenow.com.au/sport/af...t/news-story/c0f2de7d040d569c2e05101c4609c770

Another Rucci classic.

Sam Durdin, lol.

For the record, taken between our traded pick, were:

Cockatoo (perennially injured)
Duggan (meh)
C.Ellis (traded for Rite Price out of date potato chips)
Weller (traded to GC)

Sure Lever was traded but we maximised his value big time.

Would any of those four have elicited the same trade result had they asked for a trade? Sure, the Weller trade was a weird one and got a good deal.

Cockatoo can't even get on the park.

Hey how did I not get a mention? I reckon of my 252 posts the first 100 were telling Arrow and friends they were repetitive dicks and should piss off.
