It's the first GF I have strong memories of. Great day.
1970 was my 1st GF.
What a day I will never forget.

Look how low scoring the drawn semi was, compared to the Grand Final weeks later.

I went to 95 as a 16yo with my Dad who was late 40's thinking it will become quite a father son tradition.I remember I could've gone to the 1995 GF (by myself) but elected to stay home and watch with my mates. As a bright eyed 19 year old used to plenty of success I figured there'd be many more to see. Fast forward 27 years and I'm still waiting!
Hopefully more of this past players club event pops up on youtube.
Na mate the banner saw Big Nock running at it and s**t itselfBy the looks of it, Big Nick absolutely decimated that banner.

think harry beitzel kicked all that off...........Just finished watching "Galahs" which is a doco on Foxtel about the team of VFL players that went on a world tour (Darwin, Hong Kong, Ireland, London and New York ) in 1967.
Carlton reps were Ron Barassi (captain coach) Big Nick and Jezza. Interviews with Barass and Big Nick.
Well worth a look. Were good enough to (unexpectedly) beat the Irish champions. Barass got his nose broken by a big New York cop. Bob Skilton and Norm Brown seemed the most likely to enjoy an ale after the game. No interviews with Jezza but a bit of footage from the Ireland game showed he didn't have too many issues with the shape of the ball.
Was in the Hawthorn standwas there, but up the scoreboard end............recall him pointing out a few friends in the heatley stand as he was coming down......
I was at both and the unspeakable 1962.Same but was too young to go the the 68 GF.
70 stands out to me as we were something like 40ish points down at half time and I remember this guy with flowing blonde locks coming on after half time and he just went bang, bang, bang, bang (Ted Hopkins).
We kicked something like 8 straight in the 3rd.
Oh and that Jezza mark
I was at both and the unspeakable 1962.
I also vividly remember Holland’s (it can’t be, can it, great grandfather Martin Cross).
