I think tigers still want another pick in the draft. and there will likely still be someone decent at 37, given its deep.
Plus strengthens tigers draft hand for next year.

Given tigers taken so many already, would make sense to split the pick IMO and shuffle back.
They should try and get a future first, but its probably unlikely and Tigers have already traded out their future second..

Where are the other offers coming from apart from Essendon?

Shanahan was linked to Port, GWS & Sydney

Port traded their F1 so cant trade F2 next year.

GWS have Adelaides F2 next year paired with 36 would be a better offer. Jack Whitlock was also linked to GWS. so could trade up to grab him.

WCE could trade their F2.

Sydney had chance to get Shanahan or Whitlock already and passed. They could trade their F1 next year as have academy kid coming.
We're all so impatient as we could literally wait like 3 hours and get an answer lol

You went a higher risk/higher return draft which is fair enough with so many picks.

My query is the first two, seems to me that we're shifting to an era of fleet footed dancing mids with not many teams playing more than one brute - two brutes early isn't how I would have gone.

I think Jagga will be a big miss.
Jagga or Lalor had to be 1 if we wanted them (without trading for North's pick 2), as there's no chance either would have lasted to 7 where we took Smillie.

It's really interesting taking both, as we already have MacAullife who is a young beast, and Taranto and Hopper are pretty well sized, we really are building a big midfield and I'm not sure how that will be balanced, but I guess that's what we need to be patient with to see what Yze is trying to cook.

Personally, I would have traded 6 to North, but worked out well otherwise unlikely that you get the F1.

I doubt they would factor in Hopper and Taranto. You're building a team for 6 years time when these blokes are 24 and mature and next year's are 23. Success before then is unlikely.

I think you may be able to trade it down twice for a couple of F2 and then take someone in the later range you rate.

I'm the same - although in my case it could partially be that when I attempt to smile, I have the appearance of an insane serial killer (even though reality couldn't be further than the truth).
That's something a serial killer would say

What's the chances of 2 Serial killers being on Bigfooty....

So it was reported that we offered clubs our F1 from I think it was the picks after ours onwards, so that we could get Berry. But they all said no dice, until Port grabbed him.
Feel free to give it to us for 28

Heard today from a source I can't name who was in the Saints room ...you were doing the deal, literally on the phone, with GWS(?) to pick up Berry and Port jumped in and took him.
You also had Tauru at 3 on your board, for what it's worth........thought that was interesting

Damn. Would it have been West Coast we were on the phone with? They were the ones that did the deal with Port.

Would have been a fascinating play for West Coast to trade out of this years first round and into next years.

What would the natives have thought of that!?

Wow, that’s interesting indeed. With his athletic profile, his versatility, how young he is, how much his development has been delayed, how he might still be growing, and what a good mark he is, there’s no telling how high his ceiling is.

The fact he seems extremely self-assured and confident will also help him reach great heights, if things pan out well for him.

He’s aiming to play from R1 next year and reckons the clubs that overlooked him will regret it!

exactly my point...?

fact that out of 25 draftees he's the only one looking unhappy. That alone is concerning. And all of his interviews only confirm this. So it's not just the photos.

Even when interviewed it's a real struggle to get anything out of him. Obviously I don't care if he plays great footy but it's a character concern no doubt. It's just a watch. I'm sure the dees did their research and follow ups.

And don't say I'm a strange cat. Are you telling me I'm the only one that has noticed this and no-one on the dees board has mentioned this?
You having doubts on Langford is music to my ears. The worst judge on footy I've seen on here in 20 years.

A fellow poster on Demonland went to an insider club function during the week and that club would have drafted Langford at pick 2. It wasn't the MFC.

Langford will be a star in my opinion and I look forward to our respective views being read in 10 years.

Btw, I never do a big cheesy smile in photos either.

good job afl. Richmond had the pick in immediately but apparently you've got to 'build suspense' even though it does nothing but build annoyance. Way to kill momentum.

Same thing happened on the opening night for pick 1. You've had the pick in for ages.

How good is the afl copying the NBA once more with the audio sound before each pick. Cringe.

You rated Marchbank, Billings and Oscar Mcdonald. You're seeing them like beach balls!

You may not do a cheesy smile, but maybe something. It's highly unusual. And I'm glad that the folk on demonland are all over it.

It's not unusual, my God you come with some of the most ridiculous shit.
