Just backing up to the talk about what pick 2 is worth or should be worth in a trade, what hasn’t been raised that I’m aware of is the fact that it’s not really pick 2.
Not if Ashcroft is indeed the clear best player in this draft class, as most seem to think is the case.
If he’s really the best- or even 2nd best- then pick two is really pick 3.
If next years draft picks aren’t worth as much because of all these expected academy or FS guys, then it stands to reason that every pick after 1 this year is also worth less than normal, because of Ashcroft.
Then you take into account the relative worth of the guys who are left on the board, compared to other years.
