Either way you won’t get a bounty for p2 or your F1 and your fanbase believes you will.

I’m more than happy with FOS or Lalor and I don’t want to move our F1st on until we can put a decent year together.

I would take Sharp with our pick 2 this year.

It doesn’t work. They won’t get a bounty for pick 2 that they will then trade with us to secure the talent.

Which is why any of those pick swap orgies that people like to include us in to facilitate their hypotheticals will not work.

If north want Tauru and right now you take it on face value and say they do.

Then only pick 6 for Richmond or our offer achieves that.

If they care more about trading pick 2 for a few mid- first rounders, then it will be funny to laugh at the north fans who probably sat back and took the absolute piss out of those eagle fans.

I’m not sure north are pathetic enough that they apparently can’t go find a trade for our future first in the first round this year. But that’s just my thoughts.

It would depend what they got for it.

If they did indeed get 13 and 15 it might not work, but if they say got 11 and 13 for 2 and their F2 then they could trade us 11 and split 13 and give us one of the picks they get for that, and keep the other.

Or we trade back to 13 and they split 11 and we get one of the two picks they get for that.

If we’re as open to trading 8 as we seem to be, I don’t think it would be that hard for North to come up with a deal that would satisfy us to move back 3-5 spots.

Would all be moot if Tauru is gone by 5 though!

All these mega pick trades don’t work unless the saints are involved and in every single one of these hypotheticals you all have the saints giving 7 or 8 to north and getting absolutely no benefit.

All of them are ways to get Tigers 2 without giving away 6 and have very limited benefit to the Saints mainly and to a lesser extent the Giants.

Of all the fantasies in this thread I think the idea that St Kilda will just say to North 'here's pick 7 and our F1, see how you go' is my favourite.

If the Saints want to do that trade they will have to do their own leg work and turn their F1 into a pick this year. North already know how tough that is.

The key bit of information is that he would have inside info at the Gippsland power.

North definitely want the Pick 2 trade to happen no matter what they say. They have dug a hole for themselves and are desperately trying to find a way out but really don't have not much leverage. With only the one pick and although a great pick but with this year's group being so even it isn't as appealing to sell the farm for it as it would normally be in past years. If it does happen, they will be getting unders which their supporters will finally realize on draft night that even with a F1 dangled it still won't even attract a fair price.

Troy might have good mail as to Melbourne doing a lot of due diligence on Tauru, but for all he knows they’re doing it in case North keep 2 and draft say FOS, and Tauru makes it to 9.

Or if North split 2 for 2 or 3 picks after 9, and he’s available at 9.

I really rate Smillie. I think he’s going to be a star.
But I do believe if tigers take Lalor at 1 we won’t be taking Smillie at 6. They don’t provide enough contrast as mids and neither have serious pace.

I think the Smillie interest is either an overblown link or a red herring.

I feel pretty confident tigers really want Jagga and are hoping he either falls to 6 or they will potentially look to trade up from 6,10,11 to nab him.

It's probably true, but I'm not certain of it. We just recruited Darling for a couple of years because we felt we needed an aggressive leading forward to help Larkey and make our forward line function better. I would have thought the player we would be after would be someone ready to replace Darling in two years. Could Tauru become that player, or is Armstrong more likely?

If not and they split pick 2 for two other first round picks beyond 6 ... then they kiss Tauru goodbye and grab other players with whatever picks they get

St.Kilda have put North in a good position with their offer.

The St.Kilda offer should land North their man with a likely 2025 top 10 pick as well.
North can dangle that FF in front of the Giants if they want another pick in this year’s draft.
