These blokes have given us nothing over the last three weeks, we can't afford to carry so many soft players in the side. These two are the worst offenders, seriously when was the last time Giansiracusa was our best player. Ray is still living on the laurels of his game in the final against Collingwood.
Time to show the playing list that bad performances are not acceptable and they all must earn their place.

Once again we got smashed in the clearances, when are we going to try something different, we are so bloody predicatable. Hard bodies with defensive skills is what we need, guys like Monty, Hahn, Faulkner need to get back into our side. Morris should be played as a stopper and defensive midfielder when required.

Soft performances like the Crows, Saints games are the worst way to lose games.

Monty will struggle to consitently play in the 1's this year. Faulker is on his last chance at the kennel and deserves a chance to show he has what it takes (which i believe he has). He is an impact player and would certainly harden up our clearances. Hahn needs time, not everyone can come back with such ease as murph has. Farren has his place in the side but a spell in the magoo's would probly do him good. Guido can stay in. He is due, and he will turn it around

I agree with the original assertion that guido and farren have given us very little, guido in particular. I haven't seen much hardness from faulkner, i reckon he really need to be made earn a spot.

i have great faith in faulkner. i would really like to see him get more games with the senior team...
and as for guido and ray.. they really do need to pick up their game, guido in the bast 2 weeks has done jack! and farren..... im sure he will come good soon (hopefully)

I AGREE KNAKERS!! GIA,RAY STREET & ADDISON SHOULD BE DROPPED
FOR THIS WEEK. BRING IN MONTY,ROBBINS,PASK & WILLIAMS.
GIA IS OVERATED, SLOW AS GETS CAUGHT TOO OFTEN & GETS EASY KICKS-
RAY- NEVER LIKED THE BOY- WE HAVE BETTER THAN HIM AT THE CLUB
WE HAVE FAR TOO MANY PLAYERS OF SAME SIZE,POSTION ETC..
WHY CARRY THOSE TWO????

ROBBINS HAS BEEN GREAT FOR THE LAST 2 YRS- KICKS GOALS
TACKLES & CHASES HARD & ADDS TOUGHNESS.
MONTY- OLD HARD & EXPERIENCED BODY, VERSATILE.

PASK & WILLIAMS HAVE GOOD SIZE & WE NEED TO FIND SOME NEW
HARDER/BIGGER TYPES. GIVE EM' A GO AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS!!
LOOKING FORWARD WHEN WE GET BACK MITCH' THE HAMMER' HAHN
AND THE GREAT GRANTY BACK IN THE SIDE
C'MON SCRAYS LIFT!!!

yeah i'd have to agree with this bandwagon thread i'm afraid.

Gia and ray were pretty ordinary and have been the last 2 games.

We have got a bad case of sideways footy at the moment. We are trying to play soccer and move the ball wide so that we can go forward but the opposition are shutting us down because we are moving the ball so poorly and at grandma's pace. Our success comes from moving the ball quickly and straight through the lines. In 2 weeks we have somehow lost the ability/confidence to do this (minus jordan mcmahon). It started against adelaide, we started playing that game trying to continue how we played against geelong with flair handballs flying everywhere but adelaide's pressure caused fumbles and turnovers galore, and we therefore decided to go sideways.
Against the saints we did the same thing except our intensity also dropped off even further. There was a lot of downhill skiing going on, blokes not helping out team mates, and there was a lot of pedestrians observing the game on the field. The worst of which were eagleton, gia, ray, west (yes his defence work was pretty ordinary),

We could go on for hours and hours about every individual aspect but the bottom line is no one wants to take the ball and run straight at the goals other than jordan mcmahon, and if we have to drop players to change that then gia and ray would be the first two i'd choose without question.

I would think about dropping murhpy for a few weeks to get his mojo back because he's not quite afl savvy yet. Both baird and faulkner would be two that might get a look in.

ins: baird, faulkner, robbins (there's not too many options really, harbow would be my first pick!)

outs: street, gia, ray

addison should never of got picked the previous week, he was ordinary against williamstown and didn't deserve a spot,
but i can't see the value of dropping him this week for other peoples mistakes.

I see Pask got best for Werribee on the weekend i think he could be well worth a shot.Gia spent most of Saturday night walking around with his hands on his head.

Once again we got smashed in the clearances,
No, clearances were almost identical.
Having an 8th gamer in Higgins as our only serious HF line avenue to goal killed us. With apologies to Higgins, a young kid at 184cm should not be the only player on the HF line to provide an option.

Hard bodies with defensive skills is what we need
Yes, guys like Boyd, West & Cross who have been our better performers over the last few weeks.

Doesn't make much difference though if we can't score once we have the ball. Compare the guys getting the ball in St Kilda's HF line: Riewoldt, X Clarke all had plenty, their new kid (38) did more than can be expected, Kosi was always dangerous.

Even Milne got a few cheap ones. Harris did well on Gehrig, but that was playing his natural game - stop the big guy.

As much I don't think he is our savior at CHF, Doogs offers us something and needs to be in the side. Faulkner offers us little we don't already have in the centre, although his defensive pressure when the ball is inside our F50 is something we sorely missed.

In a nutshell - we've been found out, and if we learn to deal with the flood, we will start to win more games.

glad other supporters are seeing giansiracusa for what he is.

I'm a big wrap for Gia, however he has been really ordinary this year. I think he has paid enough dues to be given one more chance, Ray hasn't and should be dropped now.

When did he pay his dues?? He was horrible in the final vs WCE last year as well, meaning his last 4 games have been well below standard. Not good enough for a player in our leadership group and for one of the players expected to lead by example. I don't care if he isn't getting a kick, but it looks to me as if he isn't trying that hard to break the cycle. His workrate and defensive pressure is well below par. He is the first person to put his hands above his head and suck in some air, I know this is a common sight in the AFL these days, but he does it more than most, watch for this the next time we play...

He looks slow and unfit, in the second qtr Will Minson handballed to Gia about 15m out from goal on a slight angle, all Gia had to do was gather the ball and slot through the goal. He took far too long to get his body moving and was swamped by St.Kilda players. I think for most small forwards in the comp this is there bread and butter, but Gia made a simple task look bloody hard.
