anyone eyeing off Petrie for a fwd line upgrade? Played his first game on the wkend and scored 72, his average last year was 87, he will probably drop in value after a few games. Current value $381k but may drop to $340-350k as he eases his way back in.

For those with Lobbe sitting on the ruck bench it could pay to get him in to cover players like Sandilands/Cox/Hille who i'd be surprised to see play every game this year.

Yeah i'm definitely eyeing off Petrie in the fwd as my rucks/fwds are not the best and currently look like this:

Rucks: Sandi, NicNat (Warnock, Lobbe)
Fwds: Pav, Didak, Brown, Buddy, Pods, Gumby, Rockliff (Davis, Riewoldt)

It's my first year playing so i have burnt a few unnecessary trades and only have 7 remaining. My mids are complete and backline could do with 1 upgrade later in the year.

Almost willing to hold on to Riewoldt but will probably downgrade him a little (to another premium) for some cash... thinking ROK or Goodes maybe. Not certain Chapman will play out the final few rounds so not willing to risk him for his price, but still might if i can swing it!

But yeah back to the point Petrie could be a consistent scorer coming home and for me may even play as ruck and have NicNat on the bench - IF i can sort out my fwds, and that's a big IF at the moment!

Forward line lacking behind...

Zeibell > Didak (5k of pav)
..could wait but zeibells b/e is like 85 so ye.....is didak that much worse then pav???

thx!

thx james,

in upside u mean had more potential to 'explode' like the ******* run he had last year of like 4 >125 games???

so u think trading for him instead of pav dosnt disadvangtage me?

thx again!

petrie out for another 6 weeks

anyone looking at nok that should help his js

Im looking at him.
I want to downgrade hall this week to NOK, drop chapman into the forward line for mcneil and upgrade shuey to a premium.
The thing thats putting me off is hall has averaged 94 in his last 3 matches and is coming off a 96 iirc. However i dont think hall is gonna be a keeper, he has a high BE of around 85 and is likley to drop in price this week if pulls another 50 or 60 which he has been pulling for most of the season bar a few games. If he is gonna go now is as good time as any imo. So probably downgrade him to fund my upgrade of shuey. This will complete my forward line and mid field. I know shuey is due back in a couple of weeks and is only out due to illness however it seems to be one problem to another with this guy, has injury history so may as well upgrade him and start reaping the rewards of a premium score. From a DT point of view hopefully Petrie is out for a while as it will help NOK JS imo

Should I trade in Campbell Heath ($94k) as my 9th Defender (i.e. 2nd emergency after webberly),

or is it better to just get in a 77k rookie (maybe wait until after round 11 for rookie upgrades by each club) and save my self the $17k to potentially get me in someone better in an upgrade later on?

my rationale is that, as my 9th Defender, will Heath ever actually contribute to my score for the rest of the year? if not, i would just get a $77k rookie.

You can't go for the cheapest downgrade option.

Cover is very important coming into the back end of the season when stars get rested.

Get players with good job security even if you have to spend $100-$150k.

Bit of a random one with a bit of reasoning as well.

Do you look at a trade prospect's team's run home with regard to where they're playing. Eg. dome, MCG and do certain grounds tend to be higher scoring games? I know some will take into consideration if a team has an easier run home or not but not sure if where is considered.

Looking for advice please on the following options.

Option 1
Gumbleton >> N O'Keefe
Shaw >> Scotland

Option 2
Gumbleton >> N O'Keefe
Mayne >> Goodes

The only reason i'm considering trading shaw is because the amount of times Scotland has scored more then 100 points (7/10) and shaw's up and down scores.

It will mean though i will have to settle as waters & maguire being permanent in the team due to amount of trades remaining and needing to make at least one more upgrade in the midfield and forward line.

Bringing in Goodes for Mayne will improve my forward line by 30 - 50 points each game.

10 trades left and current team below. Any advice please.
Remaining cash $2700

Defenders: Goddard, Hodge, Shaw, Gilbee, Enright, Maguire, Waters
(Webberley, Trengove)

Midfielders: Ablett, Bartel, Boyd, Cooney, Barlow, Martin
(Cunnington, McNeil)

Rucks: Sandilands, Hille
(Warnock, Lobbe)

Forwards: Giansiracusa, Brown, O'Keefe, Pavlich, Franklin, Pod, Mayne
(Gumbleton, Fyfe)

Anybody interested??

Leroy Jetta FWD $243,600

8 44
9 92
10 127

BE -34

Looks like a ready replacement for Lovett in the Dons midfield.

Who knows what kind of output to expect? An average of 85-90 would be excellent.

Plenty of talent on display last Friday night against the Doggies but can he be consistant? He might have some hammie troubles.

I would like to hear more chat about this aspect as well. For those going for league wins (as I am), this is probably a very important aspect. If you look at choosing captains based on opponents/venues you can see that while the difference isn't massive - it definitely does make a difference.

For example, for upgrade targets this week, I am considering J Brown (last 4 weeks - WC/AD/ES/SY) and Sylvia (RI/HW/PA/NM). Injuries aside, I would guess Brown is the better pick, but if you look at forward scoring vs those teams Sylvia could do much better in the last 4 games.

Another example is St Kilda, who have PA/NM/RI/AD in the last 4 weeks. So if you are going for a league win St Kilda players are probably a smart option.

or stkilda might be resting key players over those last four easy games
