I'm in pretty good shape, plenty of trades and cash left, any suggestions for who to chop and change?

Solid Team. Most appear to be keepers or cash cows not ripe to be sold. Only Hall and Ziebell look like upgrading types, and from what you have to choose from there, someone like higgins or even didak could be a good choice. Where are you ranked?

Just snuck into the top 4K after this last round, I feel like persisting with Ziebell, I feel he'll be a lot better by year's end.

Got $130k to play with and looking to get rid of Rich (who has been majorly disappointing).

Looking to do Rich -> Ryan O'Keefe.

Seems pretty straight forward doesn't it?

Hey guys need a hand!!!

Wanna get rid of ball and ladson

was thinking Ball > Lucas (or maybe cunnigton if he gets the nod this week)

Ladson > ????????? Not really any great reliable backs i don't already have... Gilbert maybe?? Gilbert, Carazzo and Scotland are the top averagers in defence But i have question marks over St. Kilda without Roo and Carlton with Judd and Co back...

Maybe Ladson to P. Davis and upgrade ball instead.... I already have Boyd, Ablett and Swan.... Judd? Bartel? Dal Santo? Brennan? Stanton?

HEEELLLLPPPPP PLEAAAASSEEE.. lol

I'd do that trade fc. Getting ROK is a no brainer for DT imo.

I have a problem because Banner and Shuey are my bench mids. I might need to spend some money to get Bastinac in the team because he looks like he could be a potential keeper, similar to what Selwood was in his first year. Same with Barlow. Waste of a trade because I'm paying for picking the wrong rookies before the season started but I can't have two 0's on the bench, especially with Mitchell a doubt for next week.

So I need to decide if I get rid of Banner or Shuey. Shuey is injured but I'd say he is more likely to be in the best 22 once he is fit. So Banner could be gone.

My bottom 3 FWD's are Gumbleton, Hitchcock and Relton Roberts.

Do I need to get in Podsiadly or Rockliffe, and if so who for? Do I use Roberts, allowing my team greater depth, or do I ship out Hitchcock or Gumby, freeing up around 70k?

I am stumped on this atm.

I'd get rid of Roberts firstly. He doesn't look like he will be anything special.

Gumbleton is the player I would keep out of those three. He is more likely to be guaranteed a starting spot ahead of Hitchcock.

I'd trade Hitchcock or Gumby, and free up $70k. Neither are going to earn you massive points on the field, and both players could get dropped in the near future.

My initial thoughts were to cleanse myself of Roberts, but with the cash I could grab from H'**** or Gumby it would almost save me a cash making trade down the track.

I have a question that is more about strategy than specfic players.

I've set out my 20 trades such that 8 will be used for injury and 12 will be used for upgrades.

I'm currently trying to do a rough guide of when i'm going to use my trades. Would it be considered mis-management if I have finished my upgrade trades by around round 12-14? I'd obviously still have my injury trades that I could use in case something went wrong, but is it better to get your team sorted and finished reasonably early, or to save a couple of upgrades until the final rounds?

The sooner you get them done the more points the upgrades can earn...

Alot of people arn't interested in saving trades this year. I think alot of teams will burn out.

Ive only used 1 that was forced through Riewoldt.

Im looking to use another 2 this week as im falling behind the pack a little. I dropped from 700 to 2400. However i had Stanton, Franklin out and had to play 5 rookies.

I have 16k left over and will be looking to do a downgrade and than an upgrade. Now im going to get rid of my weakest scorers first and look to get in some guns.

Players on the chopping block are Tippett, Dangerfield, Hall.

But there are so many good rookies who are on the bubble. In the backline you have Schmit (Adel), Stratton (Hawks). Midfield Lucas, Colyer, Melksham, Forwards Pods, Rockliffe ect.

Because of all the good rookies and the need for cash im considering making two downgrades in the same round because of the quality available. I dont really like the midfielders that much, but the backs and forwards are both quite tempting.

At the moment the downgrade im pretty set on is Dangerfield to Rockliffe or Pods (probably Rockliffe). Than upgrade either Tippett to Cox or B.Hall to Goodes. Im also considering Hille for Tippett as Cox could breakdown and the increasing evolution of NN. Although on the weekend i think he had 77% TOG compared to 65% in the first 3 rounds. If anyone could clarify this stat it would be good. With Cox i would like to see one more week to check his TOG and see just where hes at. So the trade im looking at is Goodes and Rockliffe IN for Dangerfield and Hall. Also im thinking about not trading Hall yet because he plays the struggling crows this week and could have a big day, although Rutten has held him in the past and i dont think Rutten has conceded many goals against him so far this year considering there massive defeats.

Also does anyone know when PODS will be back on the rookie list. M.Brown im expecting will be ready to play again soon. Can Geelong put another player on the LTI or can they leave him on the senior list due to veterans ect. Anyone know more about this.

Gee youve burnt through a few:p

i think it is a good idea tho to start trying to get some cash in the bank. I have a similar forward situation as you with Tippet struggling, Hall scoring anywhere between 40 and 110 (Generally 40) And i have wright instead of danger who is stinking it up badly!

If i were you id probably to schmidt (however you spell it) over stratton. The hawks have a massive injury list and could be hard for stratton to hold his spot.

Whats not to like about lucas? His scored very well in his first two games and carlton have vertually no injuries...

IM also keen to know about the pods situation. I want to downgrade to him to generate as much cash in the back as possible however im not sure about the whole rookie list thing and his job security. Anyone have any insight to this?

I have Tippett in my rucks, but he isnt really losing many points because all the other ruckmen are terrible. Seaby and Tippett have pretty much scored the same amount of points since people did that trade. So im better off because i havnt used a trade there and people will likely have to use another one. Cox, Hille, Kreuzer are the only options. I think i need one more week from cox and he has still a 110-115 BE. To me Hille is looking really good, i thought this after his shitty scores aswell although not to shitty. For those who picked Sandi, Hille combo must be so happy right now.

I agree with Schmit being a better option but Silvagni, Nason, Maguire havnt made anywhere near there peak cash yet. Plus P.Davis, Hams, White and maybe another eagle rookie are still to come and be maybe decent options.

I sort of agree about Lucas but Carlton have 3 guns not playing last week. Waite, Mclean and Thornton. Now i know 2 were dropped but i would think they will return pretty quickly. Also Carlton play the top 3 teams in the next 3 rounds. Meaning losses and players to be dropped more often.

As for Pods just had a look and Motlop will be a LTI candidate and wont return till round 15ish. Also Stokes and unsure where the club stands with him. But Motlop should mean he remains on the senior list.

Why Dangerfield? I see him improving markedly over the course of the year.

Have Rockliff, i was thinking of going Ziebell (who i dont think will make much more cash over the next 5+ weeks) to Podsiadly giving me a total of 320k, then next week Ladson/Hunt/Maguire, whoevers close to peaking to P Davis, then i upgrade D Martin who will be at 210kish, get gibbs which will leavue me still with about 200k for my future upgrades and a good setup. I like this idea because i want to get the centre guns in first and make up the points ive missed out on so far.
Thoughts. Would you downgrade Danger over Ziebell, also which backmens peaked, is it better to get Schmidt before davis but not get the 15-20k from the backmens rise in price. Any helps appreciated.

Yes he will probably improve but it wouldn't be hard on what hes doing ATM and with the crows struggling to much.

He will require an upgrade, he isnt a keeper.

He has a BE of around 100, meaning he will drop severely in price with another sub 50 score.

If you look at all of his 1st halfs he has scored very poorly, he isnt a DT'er and its time for him to go. When you have Rockliffe and Pods scoring 40 more than him, the trade needs to be made.

I also have Medhurst, would he maybe be the better downgrade option over Dangers? I like Ziebell, and plan on keeping him for a while longer. Maybe I could initiate two downgrades.

I think this week, I will bring in Schmidt for one of either Hunt or Maguire. Not too sure which one though? This should allow me to free up some cash so i can upgrade in the upcoming weeks.

Rome burns while Nero fiddles!!!!!

I don't see the problem with making early adjustments to your team. I made 2 trades after round 2, prior to the first price adjustments. Upgraded Hall to Brown, and downgraded Wright to Peterson. In terms of points and cash, both trades have been a winner.
