I'm assuming he will cost a million a year or close to. For that price I want a match winner who will perform consistently at a high level. Not sure if Dusty is it. Just not sure.

He's the hardest worker at Richmond by a mile.

Does that mean anything? Just not sure.

I'm not anti - just don't know. He is a huge investment. Have to make sure it is the right choice. He very well may be!

We should be posting unreasonable offers to every out of contract star, even if they stay, it will cost them a lot more to keep them.

I thought this when St Kilda said he was too expensive, why on earth would you say that, drive the price up.

Either brilliant Sun Tzu-like tacticians or bumbling amateurs. According to Occam's Razor, when you have two competing theories that make exactly the same predictions, the simpler one is better.

Bumbling amateurs it is.

Seriously speaking, the less realistic chance we are of attracting someone, the higher the money we should be talking about throwing around. Like that guy from Brisbane who wanted to go to Collingwood, that was brilliant. Collingwood ended up paying a fortune for a VFL standard player.

Karnezis? We could have used him...to make Aaron Black look good.

Aish was looking pretty good in the latter half of last season. I thought they bought a dud but he came good. Still quite young too.

I was cut on him not wanting to go to North.....I didnt care that we didnt get him though.

Billings has shown heaps in JLT.

Has mates at the club.

Josh Kelly also please.

4 years deals on excellent coin and make it happen.

If there is a senior casualty to make it happen so be it. We need mids and we have heaps of money.

There's also that talk going about in regards to Josh Schache.

You mean retaining stars or players in general?
both. Stars want to play with other stars. If Simpkin turns into a superstar, he'll probably want to play with other ones. The Pavlich types who are happy to spend their prime playing with shittrucks for a basket case don't exist anymore.

Great.

Kelly, Billings, Schache in -- delist Hansen and Thompson, both are on massive salaries compared to output. (Maybe Swallow also if need be)

Probably get another young jet on top of those three if we were to be brutal about our reset.

Sounds lovely, if the brutality you mean is mercilessly pistol whipping the list managers from GWS, St Kilda and Brisbane until they accept our third, fourth and fifth round picks.

I'm very happy if we did that. Sadly it's illegal.....

Now why can't we delist Hansen and Thompson? Surely they finish this year? If not we've ballsed it up, both have been paid very handsomely and we have better young options coming through.

We already have a huge chunk of money now, or are we paying our players massive overs just to meet minimum salary cap? (Like many teams.....how Lions, Tigers and Blues do is laughable, lots of wealthy poor AFL players in those clubs)

I think both would be lucky to be on our list in 2018 short of a resurgence this season but cash and list space doesn't get us young guns that aren't free agents.
