Round 1
Roys to beat WC by 26
Lakes to beat crazy by 40
Tulla to beat saints by 1 point
Haddy to beat westy by 10

Roys to beat WC by 42
Lakes to beat Craigeburn by 50
Northern to beat Tulla by 46
Hadfield to beat Westmeadows by 2

Think round 1 will be a bit tighter than most think.

Roys to beat WC by 15
Lakes to beat Craigeburn by 31
Tulla to beat northern by 4
Westy to beat hadfield by 5

As we seen in the AFL i am assuming everyone will come out and just concentrate on brushing off the cob webs

So I went and watched the Saints play Tulla and after completely dominating the first 1/4 I thought the Saints completely lost the plot. You simply can't win games when you have two players red carded these days. Throw in a couple of injuries which left them short and it all adds up to a pretty disappointing result.

Kudos also to a couple of young umpires who handled a pretty physical and potentially volatile game pretty well.

Taylors lakes very impressive against craigieburn yesty, would have to be premier favs with glenroy. Good quality game an Margin not a reflection on the contest which was agreed by lakes players after the game, eagles tried hard with no bench 10 min into 2nd qtr, lost both ruckman in 1st and a couple other handy players which gave them no chance, with a growing injury list could be tough start to the year for craigieburn

Heard that the conduct of some of the NS players was appalling andthat one of the red carded players spat on an umpire. Is that correct

Two of the three red cards were thoroughly deserved - one of the guys sent off did also spit in the direction of the umpire. Deserves a very lengthy suspension

Fair dinkum what is going on. 3 northern saints blokes face 5 charges and get found not guilty of 3 of them. The tribunal is useless. One bloke struck, strangled and spat at the ump and only got 6. And the tribunal has a very warped sense of humour "Who do you think doesnt want to see the bloke who attacked him"? i will tell you who the poor bloke who nearly got his neck broken. 6 weeks guess who Mr Meathaed-thug plays his first game back against? You guessed it Tulla. What a joke. I bet the Tulla bloke feels a lot safer now.

I guess they looked at the evidence and made a decision those crazy guys... If they're not guilty, they're not guilty. As for the 6 week penalty, you win some you lose some at the tribunal in terms of suspension length. Unless your own club is completely clean then you have little right to comment.

Spoke to president of westy sunday

Tulla to beat craigieburn by 6 goals
Lakes by 10 goals +
Roys by 8 goals
WC by 3 points

Dropped in to see the game at sewell reserve on anzac day, firstly the footy ,Glenroy all class, its going to take a very good side to beat them. To my old side (westy)you wernt dissapointing ,there is light at the end of the tunnel. secondly ,to the Glenroy Football Club one word ,FANTASTIC,what a day you people put on.the playing of the last post, the singing of the national anthem, then to top all that, you had an ex SAS soldier toss the coin ,who recently saw conflict in baghdad. It made the hairs on ones neck stand up,to the anzacs in the crowd it must have made them very proud.Again to the Glenroy Football Club take a bow ,Your commitment to the anzac game outstanding.

Tulla win after Taylors Lakes player missed everything on the siren, a behind would have drawn the game and a goal would have won it for TL.

Watched Northern absolutely smash Glenroy today. The 32 point margin really only tells part of the story as it really should've been much greater. Saints were harder at it, slicker by hand, although at times they over did it and were much hungrier.

Mahmouud Taleb was great rucking most of the day. The Caruso brothers are absolute guns and will be the key to any Premiership aspirations they have. Great to see Northern junior Mark Sabatino in the senior side too.

What the hell happened to Craigieburn? Beat Haddy last week and then lose to Westmeadows. The fight to stay up is going to be a long one.

Also watched this game and it was a belter.

A very high standard of football, Northern looked the goods all game but Glenroy kept pegging back and i think got within 3-4 goals early in the last quarter..but Northern ran the game out well. Very solid team.

Northern Sts. 23.10. 148 D Glenroy 17.14.116

Craigieburn 10.8.68 db Westmeadows 20.21.141 Convincing win:thumbsu:

I heard Westy have picked up a few new players, couple of young quick type midfielders....
Can anyone confirm?

Hadfield are very unpredictable to say the least, well done to Rob Don and the boys down there on a great win.:thumbsu:

West Coburg knocking off Glenroy was surprising although you can never relax when playing WC, will only get better towards the end of the year with players returning and will be no easy beats as the season plays out. Will finish the season very strong IMO..

Tight win but a top win for Northern against the injury plagued undefeated Tullamarine, from what we know Tulla have a heap of injuries atm and I heard today that Northern had 6-7 Senior players out also 2-3 under 18's & couple of reserves players who apparently played beforehand stepped up to fill the spots in the ones. So a fairly even match up with Northern scraping home by 5 points at Leo Dineen.

I know it's early days, but Craigieburn being in A Grade last year and looking down the barrell of being relegated to 3rd Div next year is very surprising...

Division 1 is a very even comp and great to watch regardless of who is playing, you can be promoted, or relegated at the end of the season which makes it a tight comp whether its top 4 or bottom 4. :thumbsu:

Northern had 4 guys out on the day due to a family issue. Fantastic win, Ali Aboue-Eid kicking 8
