I was at the APW v Tulla game and left at half time to go watch Greenvale v EDS seeing what the score was at half time. Saw great commitment from EDS they also blooded two of their u17's in that game. Great effort from all the players, they were not intimidated and lead all day. Greenvale got back within 4 points early and then again near the end of the last quarter. A couple of dubious for Greenvale and no calls for EDS helped that. Besides those few calls from what I saw I think the umpires controlled the game really well and did a great job.

I am not sure where this EDS side has been all season but they were full of running, willing to tackle. The excitement they showed at the end gives them something to build on next year. If they can attract some of the young boys back, those aged 20 to 24 and some other taller and bigger bodies then they will do well. One of my criticism's is that the club is that they didn't have a ruck of any note. Their bloke yesterday did an amazing job as did the backup.

I look forward to see what they can come up with next year.
Gutsy win by a young group of players, lot of unknowns who displayed consistent effort at every contest. Schroder is a very good player and will poll well in B&F.
Big call "Didn't have a ruck of any note" from games I have watched and commentary within the comp Angus is more than capable.

How about we all actually work on facts and not post stuff that is completely inaccurate
Gourdis did not whack anyone behind play on Saturday.
He was reported for making contact with an umpire (Not pushing or man handling an umpire)
He was given 4 weeks on Tuesday night at EDFL Tribunal hearing
It was appealed and an independent panel of 3 who do not sit on the current tribunal panel, which actually included and ex AFL umpire heard the hearing last night and decided to reduce the penalty to 2 weeks and two suspended.
Above are the facts and if anyone tries to post otherwise, they simply are not posting facts.
Everyone is entitled to their thoughts on the penalty, but don't post stuff that is inaccurate / crap as does nothing for this site, which at times can be very interesting reading, but at times rubbish when people post stuff that is simply not true or don't actually know the facts of situations.
Another Kangaroo court decision, player has a track record with this type of behaviour/incident, as a minimum should have got 4 weeks - none suspended. Why when a Keilor player goes before tribunal the outcome never fits the crime??

Fair points you have raised and with this type of past history I’m amazed at the verdict without seeing the incident. Was there footage of it? I agree that club seems to get preferential treatment when they do something wrong and complain if anything happens against them. Why?? Someone getting kick backs or payments I think..

Mate big Jordy is developing into one of the best ruckmen in the competition and has done a mighty job all year

I would agree to a point re Angus, I was more referring to the previous 2 to 3 years where EDS have clearly been lacking in the big men department.

I did say he did an amazing job as did his backup ruckman. As I said to shoalhaven, I think EDS have been lacking a few big men over the past two or so years. If they aren't out there trying to get a couple of or close to 198-205 cm blokes they will come up short again. No pun intended.

Angus was bloody good last season too.

First week of finals and it’s super quiet here
AB v K toss of the coin and besides who will outcoach who, who is on the park might be the key. not sure injuries status of certain players so I'll lean towards K. Jets very disappointing last week with so much to play or. Fort . did not play so not sure if long term injury or just a one-weaker. He plays lean towards GV, he doesn't then SM win.

Read Wallis officially stepping down so add his name to Castello and Morell as not going around in 2019 and add possibly McDonald and Hardingham? May be up to 5 new coaches. Can't recall such a big turnover of coaches in one year.

Can't say GV took it easy, they were out played by a team that had a point to prove and wanted to win more than they did.

Think Abbers and Keilor will be a great game and they will be testing each other out. I haven't seen Keilor play this year but from all accounts they are the team to beat.

Add Strathmore to the coach list as well.
Grima heading to SA I believe.

McDonald all but gone, has followed the president out the door. Hardingham and co., were advised to re-apply for the position after round 17, fair to say that's another way to say "Thanks for your services".

Keilor by 15
Abers, suspect in ruck dept.
GV by 25, Mores forward line suspect

Thought both teams today so even in shit conditions. Keilor over used the pill via hand ball. Abers one hand ball, kick was the difference.
Keilor looked to have lost two players in the first half didn’t help.
Winner tomorrow wins next week.

On the money re Abers ruck.
Johns useless.

Bit harsh on Johns I reckon. Thought he and Madden tried hard. They’ve both been thrown in the deep end due to circumstances. Giving away 4 inches and 15 kilograms to their opponents. Having said that, I agree that the ruck is potentially Abers Achilles heel.

Despite the low scores it was a really good, hard contest. Defences of both teams dominated. Allan, Toy, Davis for Abers. Joyce, Iles, Hards for Keilor. Think winner of Strathmore/Greenvale will be hard pressed to knock off Keilor.

I disagree
I thought Johns and Maddern did a fabulous job today. Both are undersized and half the contest.
The difference was Abers fwds look more dangerous then Keilor. Galea had 3 kicks for the day and was clearly beaten by Allen
Galea $500 a touch today. Look it another way, he had $100 every whinge to the umpires
