I haven't read the whole thread and although id love to get Omera through the PSD. I think we need to offer a fair deal, same as Carlisle last year we would've spat it if Stk got him in the PSD. It sets a bad precedent. In saying that what's he worth i really don't know.

any other club, i'd agree
After the Caddy negotiations, GCS and F.off

Pick 1, 19, 27, 37, 55, plus Tippa and McKenna upgraded
Dea and Kelly as FA's
Jaeger @ 1 in PSD
Watson, Hurley, Heppell, Hooker, Colyer, Stanton, Hocking, Howlett, Bellchambers, Myers back.

Anyone care to name a more ideal off-season?
Patton somehow? Lol either way it's shaping up as a pretty good off-season.

I don't necessarily think Brisbane's culture is that bad, they've had players that have left wanting to go home.
Then once players like that start leaving its hard to see a direction the club is going and as a youngster you might chase different things (large crowds, marquee games, success) etc
Also Brisbanes facilites are crap, one of the reasons Leuenberger left.

People say a good culture breeds winning, namely whorethorn supporters who talk about their 'family culture'
but I think winning breeds good culture, especially at the elite level.

Nah, their culture was seriously ****ed. They're better at it now but back around the time all those players left they were really hard on them and not nearly as welcoming and supportive as other clubs. My understanding is that it was a bit of a hangover from the Voss, Scott, Scott, Leppitsch and Brown era when they were a seriously hard-as-nails bunch and if you couldn't match it with them you were gone. Not the sort of thing a 18yo kid is going to thrive in, especially when the club isn't winning games on the back of it. Of course rather than toughening them up all it did was exacerbate homesickness and the rest is history. They had a big review after the exodus and have cleaned up their act in recent years, they now work really hard to make the club a family environment and get parents involved wherever possible.

There's still issues. Queensland is generally a redneck shithole that people from Vic often find it hard to adapt to, their facilities (as mentioned) are garbage, Rockliff is a deadset campaigner and their football department is a shambles. But at least they have created an environment that doesn't actively repel kids they draft within a couple of years of joining which I guess is something they can build on.

Suns (allegedly) wanting players makes it interesting for us ....all the emotion around ASAGA has made pragmatic list management difficult for us. You'd have to assume the 12 are off the table for this reason.

They'll be after Zaharakis, Fantasia level players you'd think...wonder if we have the stomach for it?

Give them a Merrett (without specifying which one of course)

"Best I can do is Courtenay Dempsey."

With all the talk of Jaeger having to agree to what club he gets traded too, i cant see any of our guys wanting to leave now, they all seem such a tight bunch at the moment,

Fair enough.
Didn't think it was that bad, just thought it was a bunch of homesick princesses that couldnt live away from mummy while getting paid big $$$

Queensland is a redneck bogan place, but wouldn't call it a shithole. I'd rather have to go there than Sydney or Adelaide. but its all relative I guess.
And their facilities would definitely be a turnoff, you'd almost just go and pay for a membership at anytime fitness instead of using their gym

Sort of has something to do with the way he wins the ball, what he does with it, the way he looks with it. Sometimes can look like hes bracing for contract and just wants to get rid of it as quick as possible. He can do some freaky stuff with the ball but I think it literally is just the way he looks with it, doesnt look like a footballer.

I'm not having a go at him by the way, he is obviously a very good player. This is just purely my opinion.

Hahaha nice one!

I must be a party pooper.

For what he is going to cost, it's too much for such a massive injury risk.

PSD would be the only way I'd take him and I'd use Rocket's words against GC when they're being unreasonable.

If another club pays big for him and his knees come good then good luck to them.

If we got him at a decent price and he turns out just fine, I'll pretend I never said the above.

Wouldn't go quite as far as only PSD, but it would have to be a hell of a lot less than what GC are asking. Unless he comes cheap, let someone else take the risk.

Some Channel 7 sports reporter by the name of Adrian Barich is saying on Twitter that "By hook or by crook" O'Meara will be at Essendon in 2017.
He's a former Eagles player, would have a lot of contacts...Might be something to this!!!
