I guess Chloe is still in Melbourne with Lou. Any idea if the club brought her Mum or any other family down with her? She must be one he'll.of a trouper.
Sam's wife too. I believe there are two other wives/partners pregnant as well.
All deserving medals.
I'm sure they will support all the boys and understand . Lets just WIN FFS

I was thinking about who would be our big finals break out player. There's always at least one who elevates himself for the occasions. Then I realised that so, so many of our players have already had break out years and elevated themselves already from previous years, that it's hard to imagine how many of them could even get better than they already have been.

So I'm going with Ollie Florent. He had an outstanding first month or so and hasn't really replicated that form much since, and as a long-time advocate for Florent I confess myself underwhelmed. So I kinda like the idea of him book-ending an excellent top 8 season with 4 weeks of great footy that contribute to the team being dominant, and then not looking back from next year onwards.

Might be me being optimistic but, like Blakey upon his return from the VFL, it might take someone improving and hitting form we didn't see coming to help us beat 4 quality opponents in a row.

i've always liked mumford, but this will be his farewell game
I’ve never liked his conveniently reckless approach, even when he played for us. Always on the fringes of legality and plenty of injured opponents to show for it. Would be happy for him to have a stinker and then he can retire and he can eat all the sausages he wants for all I care.

STOP ! F Tom Browne , i wouldn't feed the goose

He is a goose, but the one thing he has access to as the chief broadcasters reporter is the inside details of what the AFL are doing on games and team positioning. He has been correct beforehand on all of it.

I remember the last time the swans played here in Launceston was rd 4 or 5 (from memory ) vs hawks back in 2012 when Goodesy broke the record for the most games by an indigenous player, was a massive swans turn out that day and I assure you it'll be no different come Saturday, the swans have great support down here in tas.
That was also the game Jpk really announced himself as the beast that he is today, let's hope that he can get up for the big game Saturday.
And let's also hope i can get some tickets, it's not often I'll get the chance to see my beloved swans here in my home town in a final.
Can’t wait have the membership barcodes emails been sent out to all

The Giants look 'cherry ripe', and will throw the kitchen sink at us.
Big Mummy and hard nut Callan Ward, they know what it takes. And then there is X-factor Toby Greene.
We'll need to be healthy, and bring our best game.
This will be a tough one, match of the round

The space available at UTas should suit speed and endurance. It should also suit our kicking game. It will also suit some of the terrific ball users at the Giants.

In a pinpoint kick off I am backing our mob. Smokey, Campbell, JMac, Buddy, Gulden and Papley are just sensational field kicks.

Somewhere I read that Errol is the best I50 deliverer in the entire comp.

I reckon this will be a high scoring game but we will kick clear by the end of Q3 and run away with it.

The big risk is Horse will be tempted to play JPK and/or Mills. I really hope he does not do this and he has learned from prior misadventures. The ground will test the fitness of all 44 players. One of our strengths has been speed and endurance to run out games.

We (hopefully) have a long Finals campaign ahead. Please give Mills and JPK a chance to recover.

Is it just me, or has Errol's kicking actually been a bit off these past few weeks?

I feel like Mumford is going to end our season again :(
I'm not afraid of Mumford. His time us up. We know his game & will play him against himself... Slow. No tank. Sniper.

We run him off his feet, try to block his run &/or knock him off balance where possible. His main threat is getting some steam up running a straight line. We can offset him. He's really not that big a threat at all IMO. In fact, a potential liability to GWS if they are going to put all their eggs in his basket. Go for it I say! Good luck relying on him.

GWS have two fairly big holes in their side as I see it: small forwards and small defenders. This could play into our hands in the form of 1. less pressure as we move the ball out of defence with Lloyd, McInerney, Rampe and the wingmen in Gulden, Dawson, and Florent, and 2. Papley being very dangerous (he kicked 2 and 4 goals against GWS in games this year).

Tangentially, I reckon we'll see Sam Wicks play on Isaac Cumming this week. He's an underrated but very, very good player already.

Mumford can F off.
Can’t stand him. I’ve said it many times since he has left that he is a mongrel who tries to severely hurt players, especially when he plays us.
Same with Stevie J after he took out JPK. Always uncomfortable with him in our red & white colours. Glad he is back where he belongs.
Just smash this mob fair & square.

GWS will be favourites for this one. They have the more finals experienced side. They have almost all their top players back. We are limping into finals with no Blakey, Mills and a doubt on Kennedy. While our last match was emphatic we do have injury problems at the wrong end of the season.

So we will be underdogs yet again. That suits us. We always fight like junkyard dogs when we are in that position. Bring it on!

Wicks, Cumming or both?

Is it just me, or has Errol's kicking actually been a bit off these past few weeks?
Yeah it has. There's been a few normally good kicks who have had several poor weeks recently. On the weekend, Gulden was slightly better than Florent, who in turn was better than Campbell, Hayward (who has been poor for a while, just made up for it in front of goal or in other areas).

Just quietly, Sydney should say something if they don't get a choice of where to play.

As it currently stands:
Melbourne will get to choose, and will choose Adelaide Oval
Dogs will get to choose, and will choose GABBA

But purely cuz the AFL want a game in Tasmania, they won't even give us the option
Both us and Dogs didn't get a choice. Both playing in Launceston. Horrible, windy, freezing place.

This is where Hickey can make Mumford hurt - Hickey's a great runner and even the fittest rucks would find him hard to keep up with. If we can get our ball movement going, Hickey will run Mumford off his feet. If it becomes a stodgy, contested ball game with no ball movement at all, Mumford will be advantaged. If it's a mix of the two, I'll back Hickey to get on top over time because Hickey can win contested ball and run, Mumford cannot run but he can win contested ball.

GWS have PLENTY of players out and Coniglio is half fit. We are favourites and rightly so. Honestly I'm very confident going into this one...but we need to get the Greene matchup right!

Oh and not picking Melican would be nice.

Mills will play we just need to pick a sub that is likely to have to play a quarter to a half, Fox is the perfect sub.

I'm no betting man but I always check the odds. FWIW the agency I checked has us paying $1.61 for the win, slight favorites. Will be interesting to see what happens when we get a clearer picture on outs and ins.

It's about right. Yes GWS played well the last month but their only good one in those 4 was Geelong and the Cats had literally everything go against them that game, GWS deserved the win no doubt though.
