Sadly, Spursy has a different meaning for us than everyone else.

It's the time of the year we get going though.so not quite ready to write us off yet.
Nobody is writing them off. The casino almost always wins.

Of course people will get happy when there's stumbles though as the charges will amount to nothing. Pep these days needs an 8 point deficit just to feel alive.

sometimes the cliff comes very quickly. Pep needs to put some youth into midfield just to run with oppo players at this point. I'm not sure he will as he has always back the same players to turn it around, but I'm not sure if some are able to anymore

No ones really feeding Haaland who as a great finisher can't seem to create himself.
He hasn’t been lately. Two goals in last 7 games with xg of 7.8. He had several chances wasted in this game

Nico Jackson has become a pretty good CF, Osimhen falling through has been great for him. Putting away the shots he should this season.

Top 4 outside of Liverpool looks wide open.

He’s definitely a handful, has all the raw ingredients to become a long term CF. One of the rare moments I saw Saliba troubled last season was with a burst of pace and acceleration from Jackson, it made me sit up and take notice. Still very young and once he gains more experience and fine tunes the final ball, look out.

Casino? Weird.

It's a shocking result in itself but to do in City's own backyard is particularly impressive. What's that? Five straight losses for City now?

Probably actually bodes poorly for us next week as it's unlikely they will lose 6 on the bounce.

First things first though, we gotta smack Southampton.

Hopefully your recovery won't take too long.

Worst possible City result for next week's game. They'll be on a mission and despite this morning's result don't be surprised if they go on a 15 game winning streak

This season is looking like your 2019/20 season. No one challenged, Liverpool kept winning and won the title by 18 points.

Early days. Squad razor thin in midfield. New manager. Lots of games. Hopefully FSG opens the wallet in Jan.

Not this time. Remember when Liverpool did win the league they won it by 18 points.

City are not making a charge this year - I cannot see anyway they go basically unbeaten from here with their current squad which is what they would need to do. They will take a year off - which after 4 in a row is entirely reasonable.

This league is between Liverpool and Arsenal. And Liverpool have a decent head start. Arsenal about to go on a run though - their fixture is pretty soft for a while now.

Chealsea are a sleeper. Don’t think they can win but they could finish 3rd. They are building very nicely.

Rodri is a big part of it, but it's coincided with a downturn in our defence.

Stones I think is probably done, I hate to see Walker getting sticky given what he's done for us but it's a weak spot when he plays.

Gvardiol has been great (shocker today). Ake and Akanji not at the heights of previous seasons and Dias out at the moment.

These guys saved us so many times, but just not at the same level any more.

It's not like City were outplayed. They had most of the possession and 23 shots to 9. Haaland might have scored 3.

But the scoreline doesn't lie. A lot of individual errors have crept in. Gvardiol should have done better with the first goal and gave the ball away for the second. For the third Walker and Akanji committed themselves to the same ball but both missed leaving Son in the clear. Grealish gave the ball away for the fourth goal but then we saw Werner outpace Walker. That never used to happen. He looked more comfortable at CB for England in the recent internationals.

They may have had 23 shots but they never really felt threatening after the first 10 minutes except for a couple of Haaland moments

Depends why this has been happening.

Defence is struggling and unlikely to suddenly turn around

Rodri is out

Main thing will be a Foden / Haaland /KdB flurry of goals and lots of 3-1 4-2 type wins.

Norgaard was unlucky to get a red card. He's got eyes on the ball as the cross comes into the 6 yard box and he's trying to score. If VAR looks at the freeze frame he does catch Pickford on the knee but there's no intent. There's no reaction from the Everton players. Thomas Frank says they will appeal it.
