The KPD market is pretty thin. Future 2nd for Sav probably gets it done although it's slight unders. Essendon may well ask for more for BZT (this is Essendon we're talking about).
Sweet won't cost much and Port will get an absolute gift there. He plays round 1 next year.
Market for KPD is high as there aren't many available AFL ready bodies to play KPD. One of the hardest positions to play... Thus driving the price up more to obtain them. Isn't that supply and demand right there?

Cats will get a deal done (they pretty much always do) what for will be interesting? They've asked for future first, Port have reportedly offered around Pick 37. Probably somewhere in the middle then?

Or they could swap Sav for Duursma if they don't want picks involved?

A VFL player and they’re asking for a 1st round pick? Spacecadets….
You literally did it last offseason with Ollie Henry LOL.

How many games did you play him in the VFL in 2022? Don’t answer that. I’ll tell you.
It was 8 and you didn’t play him in a single Final either. You picked Ash Johnson instead. We heard non stop ad nauseum that he was “lazy, didn’t pressure, goes missing blah blah blah”

Imagine now he’s kicked 40 goals in a season as a third forward at 21 years old (top 20 in the entire League) behind two Coleman medallist’s who kicked 103 goals between them.

Sav played 16 AFL games this year, has played 2 games in the VFL total this year, missed some games for injury and got 24 Coaches Votes including a 10 vote game.

So let’s try this again? Who was being “space cadets”…sounds like being a hypocrite? ;)

Like asking for a future first for a guy being held in the vfl by Ash Johnson?

I'll take pick 25 and Brownlow medallist midfielder thanks

No no no don’t you see CTTF?!?
Only “gEeLoNg bAd” when Geelong do something LITERALLY all clubs have done in the past and will continue to do so into the future.

….but nah it’s just Geelong who are out of touch with reality, couldn’t possibly be what anyone else would do

Ollie Henry was playing his second year and actually had kicked goals and was a pick 16. He was always going to be a player which is why the Pies didn’t want to lose him. It’s not unusual for a 2nd year forward to play a number of VFL games. But I’m sure you know that. We were obviously justified requesting a 1st rounder for him. By the way, how many games did Hawkins play in his first 2 seasons?

Esava will be 26 in 2024. Has played 75 games and has been thrown around all parts of the ground trying to find him a position he can actually play.

So in the end, he plays in defense which is the last resort for a big boy who has failed in every other position.

And, after all that, he still can’t get a regular game.

I really don't know how many times this needs to be repeated, because I'm getting sick of this 'he can't get a regular game's when he literally only missed 2 for the year by being 'dropped.'

It's like Chinese whispers how often you guys seem to repeat this crap without evidence.

26 yr old in 2024, who has played 85 AFL games (90% of which were ordinary and quite a number of those embarrassing), playing in the VFL but is worth a 1st round pick!!!

DELUSIONAL!!! Typical Geelong.

I never said he's worth a first round pick genius. Take your Ollie Henry grievances elsewhere.

You can't call him a VFL player when he only played 2 VFL games for the year.

I'll post this again for those who seem to be hard of hearing in the back:

  • Played 11 matches, and injured his hammy where he missed 3 rounds + the Round 13 bye
  • Was brought back in Round 16 once fully fit again, where he then played 2 further matches where he looked slightly hampered
  • Was then managed following a game (Round 17) he was tactically subbed out in, in Round 18.
  • He then played VFL in Rounds 19 and 20, as had been performing poorly following his injury
  • Was brought back in Round 21 and played for 3 rounds, before injuring his hammy again in Round 23
  • Was placed on injured list and missed Round 24

That's not what i heard when he was dropped for the back end of the season? He was "lazy, didn't work hard enough, needed to earn his spot"

Then all of a sudden Ollie requests a trade out and he's a budding superstar? We STILL traded to get Pick 25 to give and gave up Stephens who was a first round pick. At least we can admit Sav has flaws? But you can't teach size and athleticism and he has it in leaps and bounds.

He hasn't failed in defence? I just said he got 24 Coaches votes and a 10 vote game playing there? Did you even read what i said? lol

He played 16 games and would have been more had he not done his hammy? He only played 2 VFL games this year.
At the end of the day, they'll work out a trade and it'll be a mute point...no need to be a hypocrite :)

All you guys are saying he is worth a 1st round. That’s what this discussion has been about.

No need to get triggered over Esava.
I hope he stays at Geelong. For your sake.

You really have a problem with comprehension. It’s 7.30am. Get off your phone and get ready for school.

Yeah the last 2 games he was sent to the VFL when you were trying to make finals. Was he dropped because of the simple mark he missed on our forward line? Make sure you thank him for that goal for us.

And last season he played 8 games in the VFL.

What is your problem buddy? Come in here with your little snide comments, derailing the thread and acting like a tool in general, and for what? Barely anyone here has said he's worth a first. It's an opening gambit...as every club does.

Last season has nothing to do with this season. He only played the final few games because he'd been playing his trade in the VFL all year in a new role as a KPD. This year he took on that role, and received 24 coaches votes and got managed and then missed 2 games working on some things - as is pretty normal for a lot of players. Hell Jack Ginnivan couldn't crack your firsts at one stage, and Noble got dropped for the Qualifying Final. Gonna say they're not part of your best team even Noble played 95% of the year in the AFL.

You're digging the boot in for no reason, and trying to create a sh*tstorm where there isn't one. Make a mountain out of a molehill over 2 VFL games...grow up.

I've never said he is, maybe your reading comprehension needs assistance, hey? Might be a handful who thinks otherwise, but majority on here and on our board thing a Future 2nd is likely, with maybe a sweetener if we're lucky.

Kindly get lost :)

Why are you so triggered over Esava? You really want to keep him? He makes Geelong a better team? Great. I hope you keep him. It’s fun playing Geelong when he’s there. Always hands us a few goals.

I just made the comment how can he possibly be worth a 1st round pick, which is the price Geelong has placed on him.

That seems to have really upset you.

Kindly piss off :)
Well maybe read the thread and listen to what Geelong think he is worth.

As for you? Well I don’t care what you said. You’re just being a little narcissistic feeling my post was directed personally at you.

Mate the only upset one here is you. Posting things like 'DELUSIONAL' with extra exclamation, and losing your shit over a player from a club who you're not even involved in a trade with...at 7:30 in the morning.

You're just annoying me, coming in here trying to drum up controversy for where there is none. Now trying to troll - very poorly by the way - and constantly referencing how we should keep him because he's so shit. Funny how he has been wanted 2 years in a row by a Top 4 side, who offered 33 last year, hey?

Get lost. You're just making a fool of yourself now.

The Bay is thatta way >>>>>>>

He was wanted last year because he was probably expected to be picked up for nothing given he played 8 VFL games. But Geelong obviously wanted overs and Port, despite being desperate for a big bodied defender passed. Now he is out of contract.

But I’m glad you agree he isn’t worth a 1st round and more like a pick in the 30s/40s

He's worth Pick 37 and a sweetener or a Future 2nd, as most on our board have agreed on.

We're literally agreed on worth, and you did all that trolling/baiting/snide posting for nothing.

We also kept him because we had poor KPD depth - as was shown this year -, not because of the value of the pick...as has been repeated ad nauseam in this thread.

Good job making your 'point', now go away.

We didn't say he was? Geelong has said he's worth a future 1st. That's what has been reported...

Imagine keeping a contracted player who said he was happy to stay? lol
