I would be very disappointed if we walked away with 6 and 20 from 6, 7 and 8. Neither us nor Geelong are doing that deal.
Odd that you left out the other components.
You'd be walking away with Dunkley, Caldwell, 6 and 20 from 6, 7 and 8.
Seems reasonable to me.

Sticking point here is dogs want future picks for Dunkley, Essendon won’t get him for 8 and 29. Not sure Geelong would trade for 7 depends how negotiations are going with gws. Everything else looks ok.
Fair enough. Could always try to turn 8 and 29 into a future 1st and 2nd if someone was willing.

We can trade Caldwell for a pick swap. And yeah, the Dogs would want a future pick. I think we should split one of the picks with Collingwood's current and future first with what we get for Raz.

I reckon only 2 first rounders does it. First round 2020 and future 1st 2021, or even 2 2021 1sts. We have absolutely no reason to let Dunks go. If we dont get what we need for him we get to keep him.

If Saad is worth a pick 8 Dunks is worth a lot more. Younger, inside mid v HBF, premiership experience, Free agent (?) v contracted, and proven can play ruck ;). Worst case for us is Dunks spends 2 years playing VFL and then gets traded, although I cant see that happening, it would devalue him too much and hes a through professional who'll give his best wherever he is.

Essendon need to pay or they wont get him.

Dunkley is not worth a lot more than saad. In fact, Saad has more runs on the board than dunkley. The only thing valuing him highly is his existing contract.

Caldwell is a sticking point.

But we can do any number of pick splits and trades here.
One of the 3 into 13 & 20 from Geelong
One of the 2 into 18 & 19 from Brisbane
Both and have 6, 13, 18, 19, 20.
Trade in Collingwood future 1st
Trade Fantasia and future 2nd for Port future 1st.

We need a future 4th in to be able to move our future 1st, but i can't imagine that being an issue.

que?

Dunkley is 3 years younger, made AA squad a couple of years back, has shown versatility and is part of the clubs leadership group...

What about if we trade our future second plus 6/7/8 for Caldwell and Pick 10.

I'd then flick 10 to Pies for their future first and then try to trade pick 6/7/8 for Geelong's Pick 15 and future first.

We could trade those 2 future firsts to Dogs for Dunkley and then still have pick 8 and 15 this year and our future first next year.

Not sure what Essendon's restrictions are on pick trading (as in how many 1sts they can trade before they have to keep 1/2 to use in the draft), but would imagine this is reasonably easy.
Daniher done.
Saad done.
Fantasia for 29.
8 and 29 for Dunkley.
Trade 7 and future 2nd to Geelong for 13 and 20.
13 to GWS for Caldwell.
Go to the draft with 6, 20, 67, 73
Bring in Dunkley and Caldwell, keep a high 1st this year and keep next year's 1st.
Do they need points this year for any NGA or F/S? Or is that next year?
If it's this year, trade next year's 3rd rounder to gain more points this year.

Next year’s pick/s will be the price for Dunkley.

Caldwell definitely gets done, I feel any pick from 12-16 this year gets it done. Just means splitting 6,7 or 8. Agree those trades you have would all work. If you can get 12-16 and a future first makes Dunkley a lot easier. Dunkley is the one that might not get done.

And Saad has 3 x top 3 finishes in a bnf, has been on the cusp of AA the past 3 seasons and dominated in the Vic side this year, and is one of the elite small defenders in the competition. Dunkley has had one great season and can't even break into his team's best midfield. Let's not go overboard on his ability. My point is, he is not worth a LOT more as according to the comment that was made.

If we're going to give 7 for 13 and 20, pick 20 is going to GWS and nothing more.

Got a mega trade to get these deals done.

-Essendon trade 8 to Brisbane for 18 and 19.

-Essendon trade 18 to GWS for Caldwell

-Essendon trade 19 and their future first to the Bulldogs for Dunkley.

-Bulldogs trade 19 to Collingwood for Treloar.

Essendon end up using 8 and their future first to get both Dunkley and Caldwell, and keep 6 and 7.

Bulldogs get Treloar and a future first, probably a high one, for Dunkley. And they stay out of the first round of this draft (apart from their existing pick) which helps with the JUH situation.

Collingwood get a very late first rounder to Treloar, that’s unders but they’re pushing him out the door and want his salary off the books, so tough.

Feels like a deal

Reckon we could do some fancy moves with Collingwood too in order to keep our future 1st.
7 & future 2nd to Pies for future 1st and current 1st.

Then it's 6 & 16 and we keep 2021 1st intact

But don't mind the above
I think 8 to 13 & 20 has been mooted as well. Could also work

After Adam Saad became a Blue earlier today, the running defender's manager John Meesen spoke to Trade Radio.

Meesen addressed the issue of why Saad wanted to leave Essendon, squashing rumours it was because of his role.

"There were reports that Adam doesn't want to play lockdown defence and that's just not true … he'll play lockdown when need be, but he'll also push up the ground more."

Didn't want to play a lockdown role at Essendon when asked to but will at Carlton

given we were told we wouldn't get 7 or 8, we're doing well so far.
You guys have won every trade so far.

Dodoro's obnoxious reputation is working in your favour.

Noone wants to speak to/deal with Dodoro for long, so they just cough up their best picks and gtfo asap

now if we could find someone who could guide our drafting and get some decent development in...we might become a football club
