So, what's the salary cap again?
The more they do shit like this, the more the clubs are able to shape contracts only ensuring a certain amount of money as 'guaranteed'. All of a sudden, a club is paying 95% of the cap - according to their definitions - but in actuality is paying 115% of the cap with okay of head office.
At least, until the media gets wind of it.

Carlton's first draft pick is currently No.8 (it will go to at least nine after Ugle-Hagan). They must be prepared to part with that pick and that should get the deal done after offering Saad a five-year deal on significant money. Essendon, though, have already flagged they want significant compensation. So they will probably say pick eight is only the starting point and make an ambit claim for a player such as Charlie Curnow as part of the deal. Which, ironically enough were it to happen, would also mean that after Daniher goes, they would be replacing one injury-plagued, talented key forward who doesn't play with another one.

Firstly, Carlton's first pick is pick 7, due to a points based penalty to Fremantle from last year. So, wrong. Secondly, the word is ambitious. Thirdly, Charlie Curnow is worth more than Saad; it would cost both Saad and Essendon's first to hit ballpark for him. So, wrong. Thirdly, Daniher is injury plagued; Curnow had an injury which required surgery, then said surgery allegedly went badly, requiring further surgery. So, wrong.Did I seriously just read this?

Seen several red flags raised on Ben Rutten already. He has a massive Scott Watters at St Kilda aura all over him
