Some good news for the Socceroos with Chelsea Star Michael Essien confirmed his out of the world cup

Im sort of happy and sort of not. You always want to see the best player in the world in the World Cup but at least this helps the Socceroos chances.

hana's midfield is definitely their strength, they've not the talent in defense or up forward and a midfield of Appiah, Muntari, Asamoah and Kevin Prince Boateng is much less threatening than one with Essien in it, however it does aid every other team in the group aswell as Australia.

I think he'll play but It wont be that much. They'll play either Nikita instead or Oar whens hes not playing

We'll get to spend a bit more time on the ball without those two.

But yeah Kewell is an important loss. I have a feeling he was fighting Bresciano for a spot though. I think Emerton will have the other wing with Wilkshire behind him. Part of Pim's strategy to shut down whichever wing is more dangerous.

probably better for chelsea that he isnt playing. might be able to get his body right for the upcoming season.
