Despite people thinking otherwise we will get pick 15 from the Swans. Everyone is saying he is 32, he is too old. That may be true!

But think if you were in Sydneys shoes, this year if Everitt was playing on Cox it would have meant another flag. Most clubs are thinking Everitt will only provide two or three years service, but for the swans it's a very good chance that will mean another flag or two.

Sydney have shown they arn't reluctant to throw first rounders away, mainly due to the sucess of claiming players such as Jason Ball, Barry Hall, Paul Williams, and even with Ted Richards they will end up being on the better end of the deal.

Sydney are going to have a crack at winnning flags for three more years probably, and then start rebuilding. They will be resigned to the fact their turn will come at the bottom, and while their at the top they may aswell make the most of it.

Cya Spider!!! :thumbsu:

I don't think so...Paul Roos has already said that he doesn't want to trade the first two draft picks this year. Besides, wasn't it just over a week ago that Spider was going to a Melbourne club because he wanted to stay close to his kids?

Spider is NOT worth a first round pick, no way, no how. And by gaining Spider it doesn't mean that Sydney will automatically win next years GF. The Hawks can't demand too much or the big guy will just walk to the PSD...

Of course he doesn't 'want' to trade them (1st and 2nd round picks). You'd prefer to keep them on him. But he wants him he may have to trade a pick high enough.

Channel 10 sources I doubt are very accurate. Trade week hasn't started yet, there will be many more negotiations to go through.

Sydney can't expect to throw a late pick at us if they want Spider, it just doesn't work that way.

We'll let him go PSD if they don't give us something half decent, and they need a ruckman so they'll have to come to the party you'd think.

The swans should only offer a third or fourth rd pick. If Hawthorn don't accept that then so be it. All that needs to happen then is for Spida to nominate a contract price in the PSD, not many clubs will give him a two yr deal with the dollars he wants.

Wrong answer, he can always go to St Kilda, remember the 10 year rule??

hmmm its a tough choice, dont pay up for spider and then maybe go into another Grand Final with Doyle and Jolly as your ruckman again, how did that go this year???. Either way we are not going to be held to ransom on spider, he is the second best ruckman in the league and if you think pick 49 is going to cut it, then say good bye to spider and also a chance to win another premiership next year. :)

I think that Sydney and StKilda will be forced to give up something decent or they have no chance of getting Spider.
Both teams are desperate for a ruckman, Sydney would be premiers if they had Spider and StKilda would have at least made a grand final.
Both teams have 2-3 years of premiership oppurtunity at the moment so Spider would definately go a long way to solve their ruck problems.

I think the Hawks will want either saints or swans to get Thornton from Carlton and they can work they rest out between them. We might even through in a fringe player or late pick.

Pick 49? Sydney are having a laugh. We would just not deal with them if that happens, and Everitt will go to the Bombers for free!

Pick 15! Or second rounder and an OK player!

I'm Happy to let Spider go blues or bombers for nothing instead of being taken for ransom by Sydney.

Sydney can take their pick 49 and stick it.

Just read this article, looks like Pelchen is on the same wave-length as me!

Sydney gave up a second rounder for chambers, so a third rounder for Everitt is fair???

Im sure they think its a fair deal.
I think this deal will take all week. In the end Sydney will just give us at least their 2nd pick.

I honestly think that Everitt + pick 24 for pick 15 is a great deal for every one.
Sydney end up with Spider, pick 24 & pick 33.(2 2nd rounders)
Hawks get picks 6 & 15( 2 first rounders)
Hawks would use 15 to get Thornton.

I cant believe Sydney would think this unfair!
