Having listened to some interviews with players over the last few weeks (Worpel, Day, Ginnivan) the players have definitely been looking at the ladder predictor and doing all the calculations we as supporters have been.

So they'll know our percentage is likely to be the difference between making and not making finals. And while they'd never say it publicly, they'd recognise games like this are our best chance to repair that percentage.

I'm confident our guys will be switched on and ready for this one.

I always find it funny how people tend to mix supporter confidence with the players.

Unless Delicate Des is going to be late change for Meek, I can't see how Hubris from the supporters on an internet forum is going to translate to how the guys on the field will play.

Social media is the place where inflated self worth flourishes.

Well, in what is turning out to be a massively hyped game, I’m hoping all the Dusty mania provides a useful bit of peace for our guys. If not for Dusty’s 300th, the media would be talking about the Richmond wood on us (as we have here) and how winning the is game is so important to our finals aspirations (as we have here). But instead it’s Dusty 24x7.

I don’t know how our players react, but remembering my early 20’s, I would appreciate a bit of quiet so I can concentrate on my responsibilities in the lead up to the biggest game of my career in terms of hype, crowd and team aspirations.

I would love to see a 10+ goal win tomorrow. Ruin Dusty’s 300th celebrate CJ’s 50th. Having the Tiger faithful having to spend up at Harvey Norman again, as they start ruining their microwaves with their Tiger memberships…

I believe the Tigers rained on Burgoyne parade, we owe them. As Sam said we’re happy to play the villain.

Just hoping for the win, percentage boost shouldn’t be on their minds unless we are way ahead. Our percentage will improve if we continue to win especially with the last two games of the season against Rich & North.

Chilly morning for Burras Yama today, boys seem in good spirit.

Not a big hitout obviously but few things of note:

-heavy focus on overlap play and fast ball movement across full oval in the main drill

- Calsher and Chol last to leave the track doing set shot practice, they were genuinely getting around each other as well

- Club is already sold out of Calsher badges which is great but upsetting for me

- Sam Mitchell field kicking is unbelievable still, was doing one on one kicking with a few boys throughout the session and was the best kicker out there in my opinion

Stopped in at Glenferrie on the way back to the hotel just to finish off the spiritual tour. Great vibes. Go hawks.

I was going to say if it wasn't for the silly red time goals we allow then our percentage would be above 100% but thinking about it again if it wasn't for those red time goals then we could easily be 2nd on the ladder 😂

Seriously though if we somehow miraculously keep this winning streak up over the next couple of games then if we can win some games by about 30 points then there's no reason we can't pump that percentage up into the early 100's. It all means nothing without winning though so let's just let the cards fall where they may.

Jiath coming up to 50 games feels like a surprise to me.

With a lot of other players, I have a mindset of 'wait til he has 50-100 games under his belt, he's primed for a breakout'. Not sure I default to the same grace for CJ.

Jiath has had so many interruptions but my expectations of him are already so high 🤷‍♂️

I was curious so went back and had a look at red time goals across our season so far. I've just done it by eye on the score worm so might not be including some that would have technically been red time.

I counted 15 goals scored against us in red time. Flipping the result of 2 games (Pies and Port).

Adding 2 wins and deducting 15 goals from our points against takes us from 12th with 88.1% up to 5th with 95.7% (Cats up to 4th, Freo up to 6th, GWS up to 7th, Port slide to 8th, Suns stay 9th, Pies slide to 10th on %)

Perhaps surprisingly I counted roughly the same amount of red time goals scored by us across the season.

When you look at some of the players he was drafted with then it reminds you how many games he could've played if not for the interruptions. From the players below Rayner (acl) Higgins (brain surgery), Ryan (serious hamstring injuries), Taylor (septic arthritis) all missed major time with injury and have all managed to play close to double the amount of games as CJ has played.

Games played in brackets
Cam Rayner (124)
Andrew Brayshaw (135)
Luke Davies-Uniacke (96)
Adam Cerra (122)
Aaron Naughton (134)
Darcy Fogarty (91)
Jack Higgins (111)
Brandon Starcevich (104)
Tim Kelly (135)
Oscar Allen (83)
Liam Ryan (95)
Bayley Fritsch (138)
Noah Balta (93)
Sam Taylor (102)

Just imagine how many remote controls we're destroyed due to those red time goals. Also my next door neighbours cockatoo now has 'f**k me drunk Frosty', 'hit a f*cking target' and 'please please please no red time goals boys' in it's vocabulary due to those red time goals 😂😂😂
