Agree, I posted something recently about that - either replacing the cars with a spec car (f2 style/size); or changing it to a "time-attack" race of some sort.

EG: 1 car at a time, fastest lap (or fastest 3, 5 consecutive laps etc). 20 drives x 3 laps (plus warmup/cooldown) gives you 60 laps of racing fast driving that would be completed in a similar time frame to the GP.
Battle royale style 20 round quali spread over 3 days with one car eliminated in each session.

Hmm it is a bit early but are everyone's thoughts on the top 5 for the WDC in 2025 if the cars are relatively equal?

Mine would be

Ver Speaks for himself as he is currently the best driver on the grid hands down.

Lec I have him as the current second best driver.

Norris/Russel These 2 are hard to split as i think Norris is slightly faster but doesn't have the mentality, while Gorge makes more mistakes but has the mentality.

Oscar/Hamilton Oscar has the talent but i need to see more consistency and as for Hamilton i think his qualifying will hurt his chances even though he can still be very quick under race conditions.

Yes i know that is 6 drivers but meh

Pretty much as you have it here, with Russell ahead of Norris.
Hamilton though is the big unknown. Could realistically be anywhere from 2nd to 6th on that list.

What will be interesting as well is the battle between Kimi Antonelli and whoever is in the second Red Bull seat.

Agreed if Hamilton can fix his qualifying problems could be at number 2.

As for the competition between the second Redbull seat and Kimi well that all depends on who gets the seat..

Yuki? i would place my bet on Yuki over the full season as Kimi will make to may mistakes
Lawson? 50/50
Colapinto? I would almost put my money on Kimi as Colo has shown he crashes to much

Do I even need to ask about Sergio

I'll be interested to see where Alonso ends up, and whether Father Time has finally caught up to him.

Will Perez be there ?? Surely not. If not then it's Hadjar or Colapinto IMO. Lawson stays with RB and Yuki's head explodes.

I reckon Oscar at wins 4-5 races next year. Norris might too, but i think the wheel will turn.

George is already team leader of sorts at Merc, and i expect Antonelli to struggle big time early, they won't fight for the constructors.

Hopefully Alpine can keep the little bit of momentum they have currently going into next year and Jack has a decent car to pinch some points.

And how will Sainz fair down the other end of the grid ?? Or is there a late Red Bull twist to play out ??

Max still the favourite for mine but if Ferrari can have a full year Charles will push him. And what of Lewis..... he hasn't had a teammate as blindingly quick every week arguably since Alonso. Rosberg was quick and VERY combative but that was 8 years ago and we've seen Lewis' best. He'll win the odd race IMO, but as mentioned qualifying will be a problem against LeClerc

Colapinto would be MUCH quicker early, Kimi hasn't had the best year in F2.

Hamilton won't beat Charles over the year, you can bookmark that.

Lando still has to defend 2nd, with LeClerc only 21 points behind - and closing fast in the last 2 races.

Surely the team is more concerned about holding onto the Constructors lead.

Great news

The following tracks I think should be non-negotiables every season
Monza
Spa
Silverstone
Suzuka
Monaco (for the history and spectacle)
Sao Paolo
Austin

I'd drop Austin but I suppose if we must race in the US every year, it should be that one.

Agreed on the first six, they should remain at all costs imo.

Austin is one of the better tracks on the calendar. You're dropping Miami before you drop Austin.

They can do that regardless of which order their cars finish. Lando probably doesn't come 2nd in the WDC if Piastri finishes ahead of him.
If MCL are 1 and 2 in the final laps with Piastri leading and they order a position swap just so Lando can secure 2nd in the driver's championship, if I was Oscar I'd start looking for a seat on another team.

The only other team he could fit into now would be RB.
Because all other challengers are really settled.
Seriously doubt RB have the balls to dump Perez because of the dollars he brings. But having the four-peat WC driver in your team should make attracting sponsors easy.
Shouldn’t it?

They will. There are rumours that at the last race they were in discussions with Williams about signing Colapinto for Credit Card. If they did that then one of Lawson or Tsunoda will need to move up to the big team to make room.

Williams want too much to release colapinto who I doubt is worth it anyway.

Lawson nowhere near ready for RB.
Tsunoda….. Is he want they want? Very combative with the team itself and I’m not sure he give good feedback that can improve the cars performance.
RB missed its chance by not offering Sainz the seat.

Theyll dump him for Colapinto, who brings a lot of $$

They cannot persist with Checo now and Helmut knows it

Sergio Perez racks up his seventh Q1/SQ1 exit after he fails to make SQ2 at the Qatar Grand Prix. His team mate has just won the World Drivers Championship.

Perez has single handedly cost Red Bull the 2024 Constructors' Championship. And he still has a year to run on his contract.

Well done Helmut Marko.
