Think either Lawson or Tsunoda into the RB is a mistake.

Don't see Lawson going any better in it than a Gasly/Albon and Tsunoda I don't think will do much better than Perez.
Both will be an improvement on Perez (the guy struggles to get out of Q1), but won't be at the level of say Bottas at Mercedes, which is really what Red Bull are after.

Well this is damning, considering the F14T was an absolute dog of a car that Ferrari built that both oversteered and understeered at the same time

My interpretation is that Perez has lost his mojo. He knows he is not up to it. Many people think they can become World Champion in the right car. The motivation is always there. But he found out he wasn't up to it, he can't lift himself to performances that is respectable for him.

You compare him to Rosberg, for instance. Rosberg was comfortably beaten by Hamilton in 14. But he chipped away at it and made gains where he could, leading to the 2016 championship. Not only did he win it, but he was also genuinely the best MB driver that season.

Perez got 2nd last year. It was unconvincing, but it should been the beginning of finding improvements so that he could challenge or win a championship. But nup, it's too hard for him.

When I first saw the article title I was hopeful, but after reading it, holy **** this bloke is corrupt as shit

Motorsport's governing body wants to change its rules to limit the ways its leadership can be held to account for bad governance.

These would ensure that any ethics complaints were overseen by the FIA president and president of its senate, rather than the senate itself.

And they would remove the power of the audit committee to investigate financial issues independently.

Looking more and more likely that

Perez Out
Either Lawson or Tsunoda into the Red Bull

Hadjar into the RB

I doubt they will sack perez (although I hope they do).

But Lawson isn't ready to be Max's team-mate and they hate yuki.

Hadjar isn't ready either.

If they wanted that they should have signed Sainz.

All set up for Max to retire after 2026

Yep.

A reminder that the Dutch GP, unlike most, is a fully privately owned and operated business (not including €4 million infrastructure support provided by the Zandvoort Council). The owners have capitalised on the rise and success of local boy Max Verstappen and obviously think that the future commercial viability of the GP without him is limited.

Shame to see these historic European GPs disappear but without substantial state funding/subsidies - either in part or full - most GPs would financial disasters. Until the 10 year deal was signed with Liberty earlier this year, even the Silverstone British GP in the home of most GP constructors was in peril of disappearing from the calendar.

I believe the shortfall of the Melbourne GP this year was over 100mil.... with a record crowd

Absolutely absurd that this could be the case.

It's a shame to see historic European GPs disappear - but I'm not sure Zandvoort falls into that category.

Zandvoort wasn't used by F1 between 1986-2020. It was only the popularity of rising Dutch talent in Max Verstappen that resulted in them bringing the track back again.

As far as the historic European GPs go, the one I'm most concerned about losing is Spa.

Geez, big call. If Max snares the next two championships (huge if obviously), he's on 6. I can't see him walking away from that.

If Red Bull head back behind McLaren/Merc/Ferrari over the next two years I understand more.

Either way, I'm surprised they'd be so sure of it this far out.

Would be tragic if Spa left. Especially if it's replaced with more street circuits.

One of the best tracks in the world.

It would be great to see F1 get to a point where they have 20 races on the calendar with 15 permanent tracks and 5 tracks rotating through.
As long as the 5 rotational tracks include all the middle east Tilke-drones. You can also include Miami on the "I prefer not to see this track at all, but I can live with once every two years" list.

must be contract time.;)

Always wondered what the "natural scope of improvement is" for an F1 Driver.

In AFL you typically hear about the "third year breakout" being a thing once a player has a couple of pre-seasons under their belt.

I guess in F1 it's hard to judge how long it takes a driver to find their peak performance because its very car dependent. And is the adjustment/growth purely down to experience, or is it possible for a driver to develop their reaction skills over time.
