They had a graphic that had a red arrow and 3 spot drop.
At about the same time hey showed the result of driver of the day.
And his team mate got a podium.
They were putting up a simulation if he took a second stop, he would have finished 7th

Yes, the graphic was showing where he would have finished if he had been on the two stop strategy of Verstappen, Perez and Sainz

Thinking about this race a bit more, Ferrari's 2024 car is undoubtedly a different beast to their 2023 challenger in terms of strengths and weaknesses. This is the first race under the '22 regulations I can think of where both Ferraris have finished ahead of their qualifying position without having to rely on accidents or mistakes from the cars ahead. Seems they have finally addressed their issues around tyre degradation and instability during races although it also appears they've lost some of their 1-lap speed for qualifying.

Mercedes were the other team what were supposedly looking to change their concept but they still don't seem to have gotten on top of the consistency of the car. Went from Hamilton talking up their best weekend in years for practice on Saturday to finishing a distant 7th and 9th without ever really looking like getting onto the podium. Very hard to see where they go from here

I thought the gap to RBR might have narrowed a bit this weekend but nope, the gap between Max and the nearest non-RBR car is basically the same 20 seconds as it was at last year's Japanese GP. They still have that half a second a lap of race pace over everybody else.

Sounds like I didn't miss much other than the Ricciardo crash, which looks like his fault.

Oscar has to be 2-3 places ahead of Lando in qualifying to finish ahead of him in the race

Not his fault at all. Albon was trying to go around the outside where it was impossible to do so. He also had two wheels off the track at the time. They will say it is a racing incident but it is very much on Albon a lot more than Daniel.

Any driver at any level is going for that gap.

The only reason the stewards called it a racing incident is because it happened Lap 1 and Stroll was to the left of Dan. Without that Dan would have been wearing the blame because Albon is entitled to space at that point.

It might not have been Danny's fault, but that crash just cost him his job.

Pretty boring race, surely F1 was far better before DRS. There are just no tactics involved for the fastest car. It never matters when they pit Verstappen, so they can't get it wrong because he can never be held up. Track position then becomes irrelevent. Today for example Lando's early undercut was huge, but it really means nothing when you can pass so easy on a track that used to be difficult.

c’mon! he’s in his second year at the level. and he’s a realist. check out the norris, piastri piece on mclaren ‘x”. he is the first to see his shortcomings.
Shame about the mistake at the end by Piastri but he was a bit unlucky in the race.

The first stop put him behind a few more back markers.
Caught Alonso fairly quickly but couldn't pass, the Mclaren DRS is not that potent.
Seem to Lose around 3 seconds when Sarjeant left the track late in the race.

His relatively poor qualifying behind Alonso proved decisive.

Nope. They went too far the other way with drs.

Nigel Mansell and Williams really ****ed it up, though, and F1 has never recovered.

It was just two years!

I’ve been asking for years.
Bring back refuelling. And structure it like Supercars where you need to make a couple of trips to the pits.
More chances of tactics that can swap around positions.
And all this “safety” carry on about refuelling is simple bull. Considering this…
