geez, imagine the wealth of someone paying that amount of tax. kudos to him for being one of the few multis who pay tax.

Didn't he get done for tax evasion before he sold F1? Or was it a different scandal

there you go again writing a general post re the mclaren piece. pretty much writing it off as a bit of p.r fluff. the piece went into detail about the significant engineering and body changes they made to the car that turned it into a competitive vehicle. in a matter of months. whatever they are paying stella, it’s not enough.
I never doubted the turn around at McLaren.
Didnt achieve a win though. And that’s the bottom line.
As every new season approaches every team believes they can become champions. Is this a puff piece?
Absolutely.
Because it infers that the gains made mid, and later, season will somehow translate into wins in 2024.
That fails to take into account what other teams are doing, and importantly , the fact that RB stopped developing the 2023 car early in the season, because they didn’t need to do anything else, and concentrated on the 2024 car. Giving them an advantage over all others, including McLaren, that continue to chase their 2023 tail.
You don’t have to believe what I type. You can continue to believe the advances in 2023 that McLaren made will garner wins in 2024, but I believe they have to show more than what has been done LAST YEAR.

P.S. Beware the Mercedes. Who, unlike McLaren, have put lots of resources into 2024.

Red bull will have found enough to come out clear again this year, simply the nature of the beast they could improve the car off track for 2/3 of last season without the need to upgrade the car they put on track. They come into preseason with about 8 months development to everyone elses 3, mercedes maybe somewhere in between if they deep dived off their failed concept earlier but none the less still miles off the pace when it comes to understanding the design.

The hope for 2024 is that everyone else gets close enough to force red bull to develop until the end of season, then maybe 2025 is competitive. As far as Mclaren go they were negative last year around this time so the positive fibes coming out can only be a good thing when it comes to their ability to keep in that podium fight from the start.

That's ****ed. Actually pissed me off.

Stuck with Hass that is happy just being on the grid.

Andretti builds a car runs tests in a wind tunnel hiring staff. Gets a American manufacturer to join him but they turn it down.

Absolutely ****ing stupid decision.

Let's keep teams like Haas, who've got no ambition and add nothing to the sport, and stop a team with genuine motorsport pedigree that will want to try and win.

They're wanting to increase their American exposure...I mean, wtf is this?

You'd hope that the moves that Haas have made recently are going to considerably improve their standings, because a team linked with the likes of GM from a pedigree perspective being blocked seems really wrong.

F1 too busy listening to the other teams. Of Course they don't want 2 extra cars to compete against. Particularly a team that would refuse to be walked all over and would spend the money to beat them at their own game. F1 so blind. Hopefully Andretti just conforms to what F1 want in order to get in for 2028. Just jump through the hoops. Or take over Haas and rebrand? Is that an option.

Absolute joke from the other F1 teams and FOM, but Andretti have the opportunity here to do the funniest thing ever, and still enter anyway. FIA have already granted them the permission to race but FOM will not be allowed to show them on the broadcast etc.

God I hope they choose the Chaotic Evil path here....

Ridiculous. The only silver lining is that they haven't completely blocked entry. Andretti can try again for 2028.

Yeah....after they've signed a new Concorde agreement that puts the entry fee at half a billion....

Didn't think Lando would sign so soon. Must know something or be very confident. Still hasn't won a race and still a chance he never will if he keeps signing with McLaren. Surely RB would have been into him.
my guess is there'd be a get-out clause in a given set of circumstances. the brown (money man) stella (motoring brains trust) are a lethal combination.

for one so young and so new to the caper, geez he’s level-headed.

Bookies have McLaren finishing 2nd above the Mercs and Ferraris. I just don't see it.

Nah either. I heard on P1 with Matt and tommy (my F1 pod of choice) one of them predict Lando will win the championship! They're usually spot on with their takes but this was too far. Although I've let it be known I'm not a McLaren fan I would like to see it over another RB title.

It was Matt. I can see where he is coming from, though. It is boring to just pick Max and if McLaren can challenge for wins and RB have a bit of a drop off then there is no reason why Lando couldn't challenge Max.

It was bold. Yeah better than the easy answer. Would laugh if it was Oscar though not Lando. Imagine that, Lando would be outta there quick smart.

I mean it's been rumoured for months and it's his only logical landing point besides Merc where he can somewhat compete, with Mclaren locked into Norris and Piastri.
