It's about time some of these nuff nuff rift raft baboons got banned from these boards.

Res ipsa loquitur indeed.

While I agree with the sentiment of the festival and appreciate the difficulties of being a mod while living your actual life, this site is moderated inconsistently, capriciously, and, dare I say it, along club lines.

Did you know just about every Latin phrase I know I've learnt off bigfooty?

lacrimo ob discipuli linguae Latinae. ergo, lacrimo ob me ipse. exsulto nam lingua Latina mortua est. Jesus, I hate that language.:D

And for my obligatory second line, I agree with the sentiments, Chief. I think that, should this stay in place permanently, the quality of the board will improve dramatically.:thumbsu:

it's proved so popular so far......I can't see any reason to cut it short....:thumbsu:

Will be interesting to see if you enforce the rule on one of your mods in the Goodes thread on the main board. Same rules for everyone id hope...

I think, as usual, you missed my point.

If moderators are baiting or trolling other posters on the main board, then it's only natural people will respond in kind. Those same people will think you're hypocrites when they're carded, especially if they're carded because they're criticising a mod.

I realise those moderators aren't moderators on this board but IMO they should be setting to help set the standard. Too many bring a defend my team first attitude to this board and some seem to have little regard for posting in a manner expected of others.

If you believe a mod is trolling, you should report the post and let the board's mods decide.

I'm not entirely sure that defending your team is wrong when compared to the manner in which people attack teams. Is a person trying to bait others when they are responding to the bait laid out by them? Seems both sides of that argument have a duty of care to uphold standards or keep it to Bay 13.

As for criticising a mod, it is possible to comment on a post that just happens to come from a mod, without referring negatively to the fact that they are a mod. If they are using mod powers in a thread when they are being perceived as baiting others, then an admin should know about it.

Oh, and I can only grasp the point as written. Clear and concise is a huge help.

Even if that mod takes a personal shot?

There are too many team board mods that bring to this board the same attitude they display on their own board.

Some can't seem to handle opposition supporters commenting negatively about their own team.

If Ripper, PhilHawk and Old Darks Navy werent mods they would of been banned by now.... What JeffDunne says is true. They derail more threads then anyone

Link?

It seems if you make a positive comment about someone in a thread relating to someone else without making a comparison or drawing a conclusion, the thread residents are irate that you dare to talk up a player that they like to tear down.

It's like you're complaining about people that ask you to be objective because it interferes with your fun. Surely a thread can only be derailed by being negative about something. It disturbs me that someone can be offended by someone else posting positively.

Actually Tess, some of the finer things in life are a lot better when done to excess.

After all, who ever heard that winning footy matches is best done in moderation???????

Or winning medals at the Olympics is best done in moderation??????????

Or being in bed with your favourite ........, well I'd hope you know what I mean ;)

I copped a suspension for rofl'ing at someone's suggestion that Heath Black has been a 'great' of AFL footy.

Are you lot being serious or just looking for excuses to taunt the plebians?

Why is this post allowed?? I would say it pretty much breaks the rule below :)

You may go over a lot of heads, but I urge you not to get disheartened and persist regardless. The silent minority appreciate it.

Why not just hand out random cards for no particular reason.
Mods that have a particular disposition against a given poster can just go "red card for you m8ty, just because I can".

That way at least it would be far more honest and do away with the need for a Mod to try to come up with a legitimate infraction excuse, most of which don't make the slightest bit of sense anyway.

Like the card, one of you will give me for posting this, because my views sit outside the plasticine model poster that you want.

Just say "I don't like you see ya next week"

That I respect (because its honest) and understand.
