Sorry to go off topic but I love the way Denis Pagan uses famous old sayings and the footy world suddenly credits him with them as if he coined them all by himself. Anyone would think the man was Winston Churchill.

Back on topic, I hope you aren't going to card people for one liners that are genuinely funny. Hopefully they come under the heading of 'valuable' one liners. We don't want to suck all the humour and fun out of the board.

We'll be having a bit of a cleanup on the main board by handing out one-day red cards for, well, anything other than talking like an ordinary human being interested in discussing footy.

e.g:

* One-line rubbish.
* Multiple valueless one-line posts in a row.
* Pointless abuse "Well yeah screw you you fahgit and your club are fahgits 2"
* Boring tirades about your right to an opinion. Whinging and moaning about moderators, what people are saying or doing on other boards as a way to excuse your own actions or getting upset about the Festival itself.
* Reporting people who you think deserve a card because you got one for "exactly" the same thing.
* Starting a thread posting a news article verbatim and no other comment.
* Rehashing old rumours, topics discussed to within an inch of their life or just being a twit.
* Posting stupid unfunny pictures in an attempt to make a point
* Quoting a long post to respond with anything remotely like "lol rly??" or "I agree"

A little argy bargy in the process of making a point probably isn't going to raise much of an eyebrow. But posting like a 10 year old drunk on home brew is a sure way to cop a card.

To avoid this arbitrary flurry of red cards, just be civil and make a proper point when you post. If you don't know what I mean by "civil" or "proper point" you might like to take a break from the main board for a week or so.

If you get multiple cards during the Festival you will probably lose your main board access. So if you get one it's only for a day. Use the time to write angry emails to me, but delete them before you hit send. You'll feel better.

Well, for one he is a board member of the North Melbourne Football Club, aiding us in gaining the biggest single year jump in memberships, solidifying our home base in Melbourne, and assisting the football department, resulting in on-field success.

Respectable again???

This forum became popular because it was a place where almost anything was allowed. Topics ranged from game discussions to unfounded rumours to who is the ugliest to a multitiude of who is better lists and topics. Majority has always been crap. Posting styles ranged from the serious to the argumentative to the humorous to the downright trolling and baiting.

One liners, 10 liners, massive text dumps were all welcome. The more the merrier was the unwritten motto. Sterilising this place will have no real effect either way.

BF has become the Telstra of football forums. Good luck to chief and his band of merry men. He has done well.
