Fevola to Brisbane MERGED THREADS

Look we were never going to win with a Fevola trade, but the most important thing was for us to look towards the the future and that meant draft picks. Bradshaw would be great if we still had Fev.

Nothing to suggest that Bradshaw's 10' will be better than his 09.

1st Rounder ICKE 1st Rounder.

Before everyone spins off the planet - this deal is not finalised. Might well be where we end up (and if so, its hardly a shocker - we'd love better but these circumstances dont exactly give us the greatest leverage).

Talks are continuing, as are medicals etc...

what medicals?

are they going to see what time Bradwhaw does 100 metres in a wheelchair?

Horrendous deal for Carlton. Ageing and increasingly injury prone Bradshaw and an average midfielder in Rischitelli is terrible compensation for the reigning Coleman medallist. Brisbane are bending you over comprehensively if this deal is legitimate.

Our trading strategies are majorly ****ed. Go jump of a cliff Icke & Swann - you've done nothing since the Judd deal and if Masten/Kennedy keep improving even that will have been a mistake. Brisbane end up with Fevola, Staker, Buchannan and Raines while giving away practically nothing. Meanwhile we trade our 1st rounder for a plodder (who the Dees couldnt wait to trade) and our best player of the last 5 years for a 31 year old player with tissue paper for hamstrings and a fringe midfielder.

Good times ahead :(

I for one am very happy about the proposed trade ..Bradshaw at Carlton next year will kick 70+ goals for mine ... im not gonna buy into the speculation about his knee ...i think he will be nursed really well and well looked after at Carlton . Club would have looked into it so i dont think its a problem of concern ..with respect with the knee tendonitis .. you gotta expect abit of that especially playing up a the Gabba where the ground is rock hard without much give , where back here the grounds will be nice and soft underfoot

There's just so many things wrong with this trade and trade week. OK, If Fev's going to go we have to accept we might need to have a backwards year while we try to develop some new KP forward talent. But instead, we've somehow used up our #11 pick and acquire 2 more midfielders who we don't need as much as KP forwards. And we're getting a 31 year old forward who will not even be able to play a whole season, who benefited from Brown getting all the attention. We should have hung onto our picks, focussed on drafting players we need (tall kp forwards), and if nothing happen for fev, took a stand and not traded. There's no way known this current team can win a flag. It's a monumental stuff-up if this goes through. Massive. :)

I don't think we had a choice.

Try to negotiate a deal when you have no alternative but to sell! We were in a no win situation. Unless there was competitive tension, we were always going to get robbed.

But this is a big win for club culture and attitude. And my view is this has a bigger overall impact than the pure raw ability of one player.

Bullshit trade, exactly as one of you other guys said even okeefe on his own is a better trade than this. This just justifies my thoughts that players at our club, don't want to play with him. And there will be more than one for sure.
The wash will come out eventualy. I love the club and will keep on supporting them, but i tell you know that the club will lose members out of this.

The club obviuosly knows this, so we be screwed both in compensation and financially. That is the reality of it all. I dont agree in supporters not joining up, but this is the reality of it. Can someone put out a poll as to see what others think if this is a fair deal or not!!

so carlton has got to rely on there midfield to win games, because if our midfield gets beaten badly we will get pumped by 100points. if you look at our list with bradshaw and Rischitelli, it is very far from winning a flag now...

Nice work Mr Hindsight Genius. How on earth can you suggest the Judd trade was a mistake by looking at how the others turned out. Judd has given us a new direction, got two B&Fs in 2 seasons and got the members coming in droves.

The Fev thing is really beyond our control. I guess you want him at Collingwood for Pick 14 huh?

If we can get pick 12 out of them at least then we could draft a replacement for when Bradshaw is gone... But who to give up to get it? Cos i don't think Fev by himself would get it done.

agree. ROK any day over bradshaw and the other ***

That's a pretty piss-poor comment ...

and btw Ryan O'Keefe is very overrated I might add as well.

Have you seen Rischitelli play much ??? The bloke can play footy, and is another 'hard extractor' of the pill, a major upgrade on Hadley.

we weren't ever going to get ROK anyway, especially after he's just won Sydney's Best and Fairest.

Where were we before Swann got the Judd deal over the line (Swann was a HUGE factor)?

Cellar Dwellers

Where are we know?

A young side playing finals for the first time in years.

Of course Kennedy & Masten will continue to improve, but would they have had the cultural affect on the club that Judd has?

Nuff said
