Re: Fevola to Brisbane for Bradshaw + Rischitelli??

Given the circumstances, I don't think it's too bad a deal. Bradshaw will give as a stop gap measure to develop our own FF and Rischitelli is a quality player.

I'd prefer to deal with Brisbane and Michael Voss, than wait to see what Sydney or Collingwood will try and low-ball us with.
And ummmm our own Full Forward is????????? and how many more years are we going to have to wait for our OWN Full Forward to mature to kick 80 odd goals???

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED.

Can someone tell me the use of Bradshaw? What to kick 30-50 goals for two years maybe? I didnt realise our 'window' was open now

Only Carlton............ couldnt get any draft picks/ any young players/ players of use, but give up our second best player,

what are we doing?

Our administration is useless,

we are the only team to trade our first pick before the trade week starts, if we waited we could have used our first pick for burgoyne or someone else, no not Carlton- we dont even bargain with a desperate Melbourne for a swap of later picks, no give them what they want..........

I for one will struggle to go while we have a coach who is ******ed/ a recruiter who recruits 'smokey's such as Bentley and Johnson, an arrogant idiot in Kernahan who thinks he is smart/cunning- when really all he is good at is hiring his mates..........

but there was nothing else on offer you will say- well show some balls and fire the idiot.

bradshaw might only play ten games and risha can tag, big f...ng deal ,

sad sad day in the clubs history,

just thought we were getting out of the hell era of pagan/ draft concessions/ poor selection etc etc...... it might only be just beginning:thumbsdown:

Brendan Fevola, the best forward in the comp, for the following-

A 31 year old HAS BEEN WITH A DODGY FU**ING body,

and a so so tryer, he is not bad but most definately aint good.

Surely this has to be one of the worst deals of all time, ever.

What a foolish move.
Don't worry if that deal is done and we play crap wait to see them all sacked after the next year,Hughes,Icke,Swan,Kernahan and Ratten will be looking elsewhere. I definitely will start the ball running wanting blood.

Some of the opinions I've read on Rischitelli are rubbish. He's a first 22 player at Brisbane, not a fringe player. He's also a defensive mid-fielder, which we've been crying out for.

If you haven't got an informed comment, don't bother.

Well said, seeing him play it annoyed me that he was being written off.

Mixed feelings, Glad to get rid of FEV. I'm not sure what i think of this deal, their first draft pick would have been nice as well. Anyway its not a done deal until its a signed deal. Would love to have picked up everitt somehow.

Decent offer on the table i reckon considering we wont him gone...

Lets hope this makes the other clubs who have been hanging out offer something better...

Better than what we have been offered...Bradshaw is a gun and is good for a couple of years whist we develope another forward...

I reckon this is a huge loss for carlton. You have gone from demanding 2 first round picks to getting a player with a year left and another mid who isn't even in your best 22. You would've been better off with 14 and Wellingham haha.

I don't reckon this is the whole trade, surely there is some sort of draft picks going to carlton, or this would be the biggest bargin in history.

I get what you guys are saying, but as a lions fan the deal doesn't make much sense to me either. Whilst Bradshaw is coming to the end of his career, he still has a decent few seasons left, can anyone tell me as to why Brisbane of all clubs would need Fevola?

Anyone think Judd and Rischitelli will be sitting down to watch any Steven Segal movies anytime soon ??? :D

I think we should get onboard and embrace our new recruits, Kruezer clearly isn't yet ready for a full time role in the foward line, his body isn't physically mature yet, and seriously Rischitelli can play footy a lot, and will add to our very strong midfield depth.

I am normally a somewhat negative and gloomy sort of fan, but I'm rather optimistic about this trade, and Fev and his family get a fresh start in an new city and environment ..

Win Win for both parties in my humble opinion.

you had me til here.

Fevola has more talent while intoxicated at Brownlow level than we can ever hope to extract from Bradshaw and Riscawhatever. They're not bad players but Fev is an excellent one and I'm just gutted i possibly wont be seeing Fev in navy blue again, i don't watch footy for ****ing club culture. So disappointed in Fev and the Club

With Bradshaw, its a near perfect fit. He can sit in the forward line, and take the best defender, and hopefully kick around 50 goals next year, but thats not the best thing. The best thing is that Matthew Kreuzer can develop around Bradshaw, develop his forwad traits and then in 2 years, when Bradshaws time us up, Kreuzer will be ready to take up the mantle. Also Bradshaw does nto deman the ball as much as Fevola, and as a result will bring our other forwards into the game. Waite will now, if played forward, get the second defender and Kreuzer the 3rd.

Come on guys cheer up. I upset that we are loseing Fev too. But we need to look at few things before we jump up and start burning our memberships

first point few was always going to get moved on due to what he did when he was drunk
Second point l would prefer him moving interstate where l dont hear his name :(
Third point getting Bradshaw is not that bad. People forget that he won the game for Brisbane when we played them last time. He can still kick 50 plus goals

forth point we will be more atatcking knowing we dont have to kick it to fev always

Guys we are Carlton the best team in the land so lets get behind our club and players. Look at Gellong they havent got a good forward but they still won a premeship

Daniel Bradshaw is 30 YEARS OLD. Born 21/11/78. So by the time next season is finished he'll still be 31. Let's get our maths right kids.

In that vein, as a correction he kicked 50 goals in 19 games this year.

Getting rid of Fev sends a good message about the building culture at the club.

I just don't get the obsession with getting more mids / guys under 190cm.

Caus we still need blokes who are hard, accountable and repeatedly stick their heads over the pill

OK firstly this hasn't been finalised or even confirmed by Brisbane or Carlton I don't believe and it comes hours after Icke stated there was no progress...

Now Bradshaw with our midfield can kick 70 goals provided he holds up. But for how long is the real question and coming to 31 what's to say he'll be there for another 3, 4 years or even retire sooner?

Rischitelli goes alright and would sure up our defense.

Throw in pick 12 and I'll be more than happy.
I'm still off the belief though that Fev will stay, just don't really see this panning out.

i found that odd as well. plus an hour after fevs manager reported no progress at his end either.

Re: Fevola to Brisbane for Bradshaw + Rischitelli??

And you know what, Fevola might be one of our biggest strengths, but he is also our biggest weakness. We went to him so often when we went forward, that we looked pretty stupid in recent times.

I do realise that Fev is a better FF than Bradshaw, but I keep saying, but no-one wants to listen - Fev is on a massive contract, and we were always going to have to accept "under his market value" to move him on.

Carlton have made up their minds that FEVOLA will never play for Carlton again, and they will take the best possible deal available.

Carlton had the best conversion of entries to scoring in 2009 as such our fwd line operates better than any other as is.
