Welcome one and all to the Fighting Furies season 28 Awards night. Tonight, we celebrate the season we had and give out awards to those who wasted the most time on this cesspool we call the Sweet FA board. Blah blah blah someone ‘cool’ is here and insult loser’s opposition posters. Let’s get this goon-drinking, neck-punching spectacular going so I can become irrelevant in peace.
Very punctual start.

We played the Demons at Punt Road because we wanted to celebrate our club history and stuff. I can’t remember much of the posting because the Demons posting style is boring and stuff. Then we lost and stuff. The Half Back kicked four goals in his first game at the Furies and stuff. Hate and Carson Dial also played well and stuff.

In the season round, we played the Hawks and stuff. Once again, I can’t remember much of the posting as I use cleverbot to post and stuff. This was an attempt to defuse the Hawks predictable aggressive ‘LOL NICE MELT’ style of match thread posting and stuff. Unlike the week before, we won and stuff. Michaels debut in the centre was that of magic and stuff. Carson Dial and I were also pretty good and stuff. Rookie Strebi3 also had a good day with four goals and stuff.

So, in round three we played the Wonders and stuff. I can remember this match thread because I completely nuked the campaigner when the Wonders turned out to be massive fans of spam and stuff. Really, their posters are much past their prime and should just all migrate to the Roys and stuff. Once again, we won and stuff. Hate went beast mode and stuff. While fightyfury_88 kicked four goals and ChappyUK took control of the wing and stuff. This Is Anfield was also good and stuff.

Round 4 –Fighting Furies vs Bagdad Bombers @ RFCtigerarmy’s Hippodrome
Conditions: Warm
Fighting Furies 14.11 95
Bagdad Bombers 11.17 83
Playing at their home ground, the Furies came into this game sitting in 4th place on the ladder and looking to continue on their good start to the season. In a closely fought game, the difference between the sides was TheHalfBack who snagged 6 majors to get the Furies over the line and inflict another loss to the Bombers train wreck season.

Round 5 – Fighting Furies vs Dragons FFC @ RFCtigerarmy’s Hippodrome
Conditions: Cloudy
Fighting Furies 10.7 67
Dragons FFC 17.16 118
A lightning fast start by the Dragons caught the Furies napping and they were never able to recover from there on in. The only good thing to come out of this game was that the Furies managed to hold onto their place inside the top four.
Amazing, losing to a team of flogs who’s Captain AceAndy usually orchestrates his side from the bench or the sun lounge on the deck of a f**king cruise ship! This was the loss we had to have…

The Nuffers Medal was named after Furies veteran Nuffers and is awarded to the best performing rookie of the season. Season 28 saw three rookies start their SFA adventure at the Furies. One of them had an immediate impact at the club.

JackBero was picked up in the first half of the season and pick up not only the tone of the league but the club culture instantly. Stated in his beloved forward-pocket, the LG decided to give him some reward for effort and put him in the guts. This result is both a great first season on and off the field.

Congrats JackBero.

The Tsar’s Trophy is given by the Tsar to the poster who they believe gave the best contribution to the Furies.

This season trophy is going to a poster who gave their time to the club every week, even when he did not feel it like. He pushed himself to fly the flag for his club when no many others could. His posting and enjoyment for the league took a massive hit because of his. But frankly, he could not care less about what others think of him. He did it for the club he loves. Later, he would become the key piece for #OperationNuclear. This would be his finest performance, as he had the whole league eating out of his hands.

Congrats TJASTA.

Round 6 – Las Vegas Bears vs Fighting Furies @ Stadium in the Sky
Conditions: Warm
Las Vegas Bears 15.4 94
Fighting Furies 17.9 111
In a must-win game, the Furies needed to bounce back from the loss against the Dragons. This time facing the Bears, they didn’t disappoint, leading at the end of each quarter. The Half Back kicked another 5 goals, with Michaels chiming in with a further 3, and S28 Rookie JackBero slotting 2 goals in a classy display.
To sour the day further for the Bears, their team bus was allegedly stolen from the Hippodrome and hasn’t been seen since. In recent news,a 245kg Qooty player is helping Police with their enquiries.

Fighting Furies : 13.9.87
Gumbies FFC : 12.7.79

No surprises the Furies won this as we were in winning form and hungry to make the finals. The little plasticine figures gave it a shot but were unable to withstand the barrage of Furies that took to the field and never looked like loosing. Overall the Heritage Round was a pretty ordinary match with the on field highlights being slim and few:
  1. The Half Back showed why he was the Furies FF by kicking 5 goals
  2. FightingFury going into the ruck and dominating with 11 HO to 5
Off the field TJASTA lead from the front and was by far the biggest match thread contributor with 63, the closest Furie being Carson Dial on 20.

2nd place Rats v 4 place Furies
Sin City Swamprats : 10.10.70
Fighting Furies : 11.10.76

Another Furies win and against a solid team in the Swamprats.
Couple of Furies of old in Hate and his Is Anfield showed the young lads how to play qooty with HATE racking up 106DT and This Is Anfield 97DT, guess they had found Ned_Flanders stash of Viagra.

Off field TJASTA lead again with the post count with 46, the closest Furie being 20 from Tigerturbulance.

CONEY ISLAND WARRIORS vs FIGHTING FURIES
@ Van Cortlandt Park

Coney Island Warriors : 17.14.116
Fighting Furies : 16.12.108

Tigerturbulance was locked up in AdSense Banhammer Prison the week of this game and it was without 245kg of love muscle the Furies took on a strong Warriors side.
Warriors did their homework and made the most of a restructured Furies team and in the end came out on top.

Even in a loosing side JackBero dominated the mid field with 26 kicks, 12 Handballs and 8 tackles for a huge DT of 145. Michaels also found form in a loosing side with DT of 92.

Off field TJASTA lead the way again with 37 posts and JackBero coming in 2nd with 25 posts a big day out for our rookie.

Well done JB. Ignore that this is named after Nuffers, we only named it after him because of how much he cries in the team pm

Round 10 - Fighting Furies vs Roys FFC @ rfctigerarmy's Hippodrome

Conditions: Warm
FUR 13.9.87
ROY 12.4.76

The Furies were at home this week up against the Roys. Coming off an 8 point the week before, the Furies were hungry. The Half Back starred booting 8 goals and racking up 93 DT points as did Hate with 98 DT points and JackBero with 111 DT points. It was a good win after a long week of JackNah_8 rambling about tennis and TJASTA not shutting up about a goose.
