Brownlow Medallist
That’s all well and good but Finn isn’t an inside mid’s arseh*le
I needed to read that twice.

76…I don’t really know what’s going on
I was merely stating it was a shame we didn’t take Holmes
Midfield is the easiest spot to get a game for us if you are capable, problem is we haven’t had anyone properly put their hand up.
Fly is ruthless and I’m not sure he is the youth developer that say Malthouse was, who was an absolute top tier coach at getting youngsters to play and play well

Nail. Head . Hammer. . Notwithstanding FJ young gun future AA mid. Ed AllanHardly the easiest spot in the team to get a spot for us
Nick Daicos: arguably the best player in the league
Scott Pendlebury: our best player ever and still pulls the strings
Tom Mitchell: a former Brownlow Medalist who was our top tackler and cleanrece player in 2023 before his injuries
Jack Crisp: quite literally is going for the most consecutive games without missing a game, one of the most consistent players going around
JDG: was an AA40 midfielder in a premiership year in 2023
Perryman: we've just signed him on 900k a year, he's very clearly going to play
Very hard to get into the side as a midfielder if these guys are all fit and firing

But it's the hardest to be capable. You're competing directly against the best players in the league in the most crucial roles with the biggest impact on results. You can't be inconsistent or carried and play in the centre square - you can in other roles. One thing Malthouse certainly didn't do is throw newbies into the centre square.

I still think this kid could have won us the 2002 GF, and should have come in. Loved the mud.Cough cough Mark McGough.

Lipinski please. GONESKI.Plus wingmen who at times will have cameos in the centre square, Josh, Sidey, Lipinski ….maybe even Houston. And potentially McCreery!
It's funny, he won that ANZAC medal in the wet but I heard him say he hated playing in the wet.I still think this kid could have won us the 2002 GF, and should have come in. Loved the mud.
I still think Jimmy Bartel is the best wet weather footballer ive seen. Looked a class above when it rained. Jono Brown for a big bloke tooIt's funny, he won that ANZAC medal in the wet but I heard him say he hated playing in the wet.
He looked like a mudpie, little fat legs and all.
Doug Hawkins and Peter Daicos were pretty amazing in the wet. Everyone else would be fumbling like crazy and it didn't seem to affect them at all.I still think Jimmy Bartel is the best wet weather footballer ive seen. Looked a class above when it rained. Jono Brown for a big bloke too
Bill Picken too. Hafey's Magpies were known as the mudpies (at least in Sunday Press headlines), t JHF ey hada lot of sound skill sets that held up in difficult conditionsI still think Jimmy Bartel is the best wet weather footballer ive seen. Doug was the only player that redder eyes than me on gameday & I was in the stands.Doug Hawkins and Peter Daicos were pretty amazing in the wet. Everyone else would be fumbling like crazy and it didn't seem to affect them at all.
I wonder if any modern footballer has every touched mud.Bill Picken too. Hafey's Magpies were known as the mudpies (at least in Sunday Press headlines), t JHF ey hada lot of sound skill sets that held up in difficult conditions
That’s a big if there…players will get injured, suspended, will sit on the bench to rest. You need at least 10 AFL grade midfield options across a season.Hardly the easiest spot in the team to get a spot for us

Grass, maybe; but mud, unlikely.I wonder if any modern footballer has every touched mud.
New ploy: Pies train in mud once a week. Big game comes up (Grand Final prolly), the codeword goes out "Picken". All the Pie fans come to the game early with mutiple water bottles and we sling it out onto the pitch. Lumps of ice so we get some distance? Maybe handfulls of little ice pellets.Grass, maybe; but mud, unlikely.

Are you sure? Mud or rain? I can't remember the last time I saw a muddy afl ground.I reckon Sidey is a mud lark. Tim Kelly when at Geelong too
