Noticed that BOM updated their forecast to 25c, 60% chance of showers and VERY WINDY.


I am flying in on Saturday morning and heard that previously flights may be cancelled… this would be an epic fail.!!! L


I there any kind of insurance that would cover my cat 1 ticket? (my CBA card only covers international travel).

Given the masses of wind detection/monitoring equipment at major airports, that's really not a concern.

I don't fly nearly as often as KiwiTiger but I've travelled a bit, and I dare say most experienced travellers have landed comfortably in noticeably worse than that (Edmonton, Canada, snowing and gusts to 100kph...and I barely noticed until I was on the ground). With these winds, I think the worst you'll get is a bit of turbulence and a few bumps on landing (and I wouldn't even bet on those).

It'll be a breeze (so to speak).

No need to worry whatsoever.
Airports are built in windy locations because wind assists planes in take off and landing and 60kmh winds are a walk in the park. They operate in 100kmh winds.
The best part I would think is if it's windy then that swirly bastard of a breeze that gets trapped inside the MCG cauldron makes kicking horrendously hard and games become a real scrap. We are used to it and they are not plus ball movement and kicking is their big thing.

I'm sure 99.9% of people here don't need it, but a public service announcement for the 0.1% it possibly applies to (and yes, I feel sick about the 'getting ahead of myself' and 'tempting fate' vibes of this post):

If you've registered for a GF ticket, today is likely your last chance to make sure you have enough credit on the card registered to have GF tickets charged if Richmond wins tomorrow night.

Whether its a BPay of the credit card bill, getting some money deposited into the account for a debit card or whatever, get it done today! If you try and do it after 5pm today, depending on how you're paying a bill or moving money, no guarantees that it will be cleared in the necessary account by the time cards get charged.

If there's not enough credit/funds available, you'll miss out.
