I'm pretty confident it will be at MCG

On what basis? Only a few days ago Gill said the only chance of dogs playing at Etihad is if they play us, he probably didn't think it would happen (was before Geelong lost) but he may be under pressure to follow through having opened the door to the possibility

The only chance but not a guaranteed chance

Round 1 of finals there will be 2 games outside of Victoria and the MCG will be keen to secure both Melb based games, they wont be happy with just the 1 game

In renegotiating the mandatory finals game quota clause with the MCG trust there was alot of good will shown by both parties and the AFL will won't to maintain this, on the other hand the relationship between the AFL and ES trust is not as healthy as they continue to improve the stadium deals with its tenants

Just listening to his comments it sounds like Adelaide v Bulldogs would be at etihad. Any first round finals match involving Adelaide in Melbourne would likely attract less than 50K.

Yep. Would much rather the MCG.

McLachlan said the potential for far larger crowds at the MCG ruled out the move, and an Etihad Stadium final would only be considered if the Bulldogs are drawn to host Adelaide in the first week of the finals.

Good luck in the finals you guys. I hope you do Phil Walsh proud. Will be a tuff game against the doggies, they are hungry and have belief. Fast and on their own patch.

Win, lose or draw, give them hell!

Us V The Bullies in Melbourne would be favourite for our first final, if not Richmond over here.

either way the winner would likely be playing the loser of West Coast and Hawthorn for a spot in the Prelim against the winner of Freo and Sydney.

makes $21 for the flag sound generous, but I can't bloody wait.

North lose next week and the Geelong-Crows game is meaningless. But would hope the guys keep the momentum going. Winning form is good form. We are not a club used enough to winning to take it for granted.

Five wins to go.

Some Richmond fans I know haven't learned any grace after thirty years of failure. It would be super sweet to play them here in the elimination final!!

Yes true - if that happens we go above them, but is anyone thinking that is going to happen? The Lions are deadset poo.
Lions at the Gabba are better than they're away.
However, I still fully expect Dogs to win, just keeping my optimistic hat on and not ruling out a gutsy win by Lions at home to finish off the season and give their supporters hope over pre-season.

Anyone have any thought as to the timing of the finals? My son's grand final is on the 12th Saturday afternoon (go figure, all their other games have been played Sunday!). I have two performances in Bris Fest that night. I'm betting I'll be missing this too! Far out!

Edit:

Going on last years:

Friday Night - 2nd v 3rd (Qualifying final 2)
Saturday Arvo - 1st v 4th (Qualifying final 1)
Saturday Night - 6th v 7th (Elimination final 2)
Sunday Arvo - 5th v 8th (Elimination Final 1)

So I am hoping for a 5th/8th possie! oy vay.
