Told by a reliable source that we won't lose a game next season.

On a serious note, I reckon our first month looks fairly positive in the terms of match ups. We will know more about timeslots and rest days shortly. All winnable games and against clubs we need to beat if finals are the aim.

As a SA-based fan, would love nothing more than to beat the Crows at AO to start the season.

The Saints have been a Marvel Stadium tenant since the venue opened but have been sending in annual requests to the AFL to play more home games at the MCG.

“I think we have been open about the fact we would like to have more MCG home games, we would like to be a hybrid club playing some games at the MCG, particularly the bigger drawing games,” Saints president Andrew Bassat told Saints TV this week.

“We’re hoping to get at least one game this year, if not two games. Over time we’d like four. We’ll keep that request on there. It is going to be hard but we will keep pushing that year after year.”

Bassat has been huge for us. He been really actively righting the ship. He's made mistakes but smart enough to not double down and change direction nimbly and sensibly.

I want to hate everyone that administrates our club but he's been excellent so far. He's done a lot of serious repair work and built the best footy department we've probably ever had. He understands that you have to spend money on the FD or you are just pissing away opportunity to improve.

Haven't played Adelaide or GWS in Melbourne since before the pandemic.

So of course, away trips already confirmed against both these clubs.

Melbourne will return to Alice Springs for their annual Heart of the Nation match on June 1 against St Kilda, continuing the long-standing relationship with the Red Centre community.

We must have played the most Adelaide games out of any non-Adelaide team at this point. It's ridiculous, doesn't help that we've never learnt how to play there.

Pretty decent fixture apart from the Adelaide bit. Get doubles against three teams that will be thereabouts with us in pushing for finals - Dogs, Freo & Melbourne (I think Dees will be better but definitely not a Top 4 prospect type team) so the opportunity is there to be taken.

Richmond will be soft as next year, you can just about put that double in the book. Nice to get an away against WC while they rebuild, hopefully in the next couple of years we get them at home once they are better.
