love a good bahn mi. Place near me does a great one but has a tiny window if you want one for lunch delivered. pork belly, yes pate.
Best Bahn Mi I had was in Hoi An. Bout 50c Australian. Washed down with (plenty of) 20c pots of fresh beer.
Get the odd OK one in Australia, but in comparison they are panels behind what they serve up in Vietnam.
Bit like Guinness. What they serve up in Australia is nowhere near the quality they served up in Ireland.

Lucky enough that I'm only a stones throw from Springvale. Some very authentic Vietnamese bakeries. Before that my workshop was in the Foostcray Sunshine area, which also has a strong Vietnamese community.
The Sunshine bakeries were good (and damn talk about a production line they had going on), but not quite as good as the Springvale bakeries. One of the biggest problems, especially in Sunshine was that they were just so cheap. $3.50 a pop, so you'd always buy / eat too much. Never go shopping when you're hungry.
I have honestly never heard of Bahn Mi until now.
I don’t mind Chilli.Do yourself a favour and go find it. Careful with the chili though unless that’s your thing.
Yeah had a couple from a joint in Springvale when had to work at our office there for a few days, maybe 10-12 years ago now; and a couple from a joint in Footscray when visiting a mate in Yarraville. Both were pretty good.
$3.50 is cheap, how long ago? No idea how much they are in Springvale/Footascray now. There’s a place near me who makes OK ones, they are $8.50.
I don't mind it spicy as well.... (helps living in Singapore for 10 years).I don’t mind Chilli.

Atleast the coriander is easy enough to pull out.Same, never complain about too much chili. Too much coriander on the other hand, that's a deal breaker. Nothing worse than a palm tree sized sprig of coriander in a banh mi. Less is more with coriander.
Sure this is getting off topic, but still better than talking about covid.
The quality and variety of food at the Gabba, along with the terrible service (mainly due to low staffing levels and closed outlets) makes going to the footy a less than satisfactory experience sometimes. Fortunately, we now park up the Mater Hospital end of Stanley St and there are some good places to eat along the walk to the ground. Burgers, BBQ, Curry, Korean etc. There's a real opportunity though for pre-packaged food that people can take into the Gabba. Why cant we have some Vietnamese/thai street food, Lebanese pide/kebabs etc at the Gabba. Sick of chips and burgers. Heck give us some tex mex or something if you ate worried spice will frighten the usual crowd. I usually end up hitting the deli and bringing my own snacks to games now. You can buy like a kg of various meats and cheeses for the price of some burgers snd chips.

Well I do know what coriander is and a palm tree sized sprig of Coriander (as you explained it) sounds to be pretty easy to remove imo.So we've gone from never having heard of Banh Mi to being an expert now have we? Classic BigFooty.
I've had it with this board, 1st it was the Covid talk derail and now it's Banh Mi talk... come on people, this will just not do, back on to footy talk please.

And my favourite milkshake flavour is beer. I like it best without milk and ice cream though. Speaking of which, is it 4:00 yet?
