In the third there was a passage where he lost his feet and it was pretty clear he couldn’t hit top pace.

Interesting point that. Given how fit Viney was in his playing days, it's surprising to see how much he's put on. But Neil Balme was heavy when he was in a similar role in Geelong's 2007, 09, 11.

Either way, our lack of fitness has been there for five-plus years. Senior players not doing enough. We get exhausted and outnumbered every week - usually after there's been a bit of circle work.

If professional athletes need their coaches to be in shape to motivate their own fitness, they shouldn't be professional athletes, lol. What a load of tish.

West coast weren't good, but their intent and effort was high from the get-go. If north had started at the same level and matched them throughout the game we would have won easily. We didn't though, and were lucky not to get smashed.

They were inaccurate and kept us in it. Just a horrible game overall.

We were just as inaccurate with 3-4 kickable goals. Each time we came back it was on the back of effort. Lazy bombs to packs, and letting them walk through stoppages are what put us behind.

There was a collision in the first quarter where he came out second best as well, he was jumping around and limping like it was serious, but I don't think he left the field.

Can't remember what happened next but chances are it was a handball forward to two free Eagles......one of them Cripps? ....plenty of effort, but woefully, as usual, wastefully misguided. Feels like its been going on for 20 years.

As is being out-crumbed, both forward and back, and, despite the above example, being outnumbered all over the ground.

If we are serious about improving, I want to see Luke stripped of the captaincy. Giving Jye the benefit of the doubt because I'm not sure he's fully fit. I'd at least elevate LDU to co-captain, if not make him captain in his own right.
