jeez big call, he wont even be their main man, we solely focused on getting him the ball most of the year and he was still just an average key forward
Forwards don't score in the Freo environment though

Dogs environment has had josh Bruce! Kick over 50 goals, Lobb is a far better player than Bruce

Fast track at marvel for like 12 to 13 game also helps tremendously

No way in the world is lobb scoring 40+ goals in bulldogs fwd line , especially whilst Astronaught and JUH are there.

Not to forget Weightman and the occasional appearances by Sam Darcy.

We will see I suppose, it's common on this board for people to underrate players that have left us
Also very common to underrate players from other teams under the guise of "they wouldnt kick as many in our system"

Only one who has kicked more in our system in the last 15 years was Lobb and that's because he played as a full time forward, been a tonne of failures though

Dogs are one of the highest scoring teams in the comp and they play at marvel, it's a great spot to be for Rory

I reckon opposite, can see 40-50 goals in the dogs marvel environment

Won't have to play in the rain and is playing for a team with crisp ball movement and high scoring

Managing 35 goals in freos forward line is a pretty big deal, he's moving to a more open scoring team now
I think he’s mentally weak and won’t be as motivated to do well without the carrot of a new club to play for. The dude has no self agency. The only area of his where I think output will increase is sooking.

He won't kick more goals as he'll have to ruck. If English gets injured, he'll be rucking full time too. His extra rucking will lead to more sooking and getting injured himself.

I think Griff could be as good or even better than Cox but Cox comes with the added benifit of not being as injury prone(outside of trying to shred on a skateboard) and he comes with Luke Ryan on the side. Griff cant compete with that.
Griff isn't close to Cox. Logue doesn't mark under pressure as well as Cox nor makes good decision by foot.

How? That means Rory is the main target. Naughton commands the contest, JUH will be Bulldogs' priority as the club would want to develop him and keep him at the club long term. There's no way Lobb is having the same role then he did at Fremantle. He ll learn that very early. Even Darcy should be getting forward minutes at his age. It ll be an eye opening year for him.

I think, with time, Griff will look back at that performance piece on the Colin Cancer show with a little bit of self-awareness and regret.

Lobb's sooking, however, is just absolutely next level. He'll be getting Gaff-level heat every time he's back in Perth - and we all know how well he deals with pressure.
The claim that he wanted the same money as his previous contract, and Fremantle didn't offer that- were lowballed and offered lower, is laughable. Young and Logue saw an opportunity to demand more, loss against Fremantle and now he's at the only club that will offer anything long term, no one else remotely even asked for him. As per usual Young is a fleece and a tool.

Looking at it objectively and not through rose tinted glasses, I actually don't think it is that far outside the realms of possibility. With Jackson coming in and at that point not knowing whether the Rory money would be coming off the books, the club could have legitimately said we need to give a bit less. But, I also don't think it would have been that much to make a big deal of it.

What was his previous contract? Assuming 250k-300k?
Lobb was on what 700k?
Jackson has come in and is on 800k minimum.
Definitely think Jackson said okay by May/June hence why Young then went calling the 9-10 clubs, apparently

I wouldn't be surprised if Griff was on more like $400k-$450k.

Lobb might be the first player we’ve lost where I harbour a grudge because they just seem like a douche. Neale I’m jealous / little bit resentful for losing him for his prime years but Lobb is just a douche

To Neale's credit, he's never been anything other than completely upfront about the big bucket of money they dropped in front of him. Have always admired that, even if I don't agree with it.

Except he's now sharing a forward line with at least two other KPFs (Naughton, Marra) with far better forward craft than he has, and has repeatedly shown that he struggles to co-exist with other tall marking targets.

He'll battle, and have a good long sook while doing it.

I don’t have any trouble believing half the clubs in the comp were at least enquiring about Logue. He just played a season where he completely shut out some of the best power forwards in the game then showed some promise as a swing man.
He fell off a cliff as a forward later in the year & has a disappointing lack of football smarts which is why I couldn’t care less he’s gone but I can see why he’d have been in demand.

It's 800. Even WC were in for Logue at that sub 500 price. Everyone backed out when North threw huge money on the table

I was talking about what he was on here and not what North are giving him.

Interesting if Logue wanted the 400k and just sign on. Think there’s more to it via Young. Saw a chance to inflate his client’s ego and find big bucks. Good on him.
Logue is having another interrupted pre season. North must be getting buyer’s remorse.
