Frawley to Join Hawks. (Pick 3 to the Dees)

West Coast got an end of first round priority pick in 2008, 2 years after they won the flag. Took Luke Shuey. Got another end of first round in 2010. Took Jack Darling. Got another end of first round in 2011. Took Fraser McInnes. Every snout is in the trough. You have done well with your picks but you did not drag yourself out of the sh*t, you had some assistance.

Picks 18 and 26. Barely on the level of what posters are arguing about here.

Stop making the mistake of thinking that because we managed to develop a pick 18 and pick 26 well that we have been overly compensated for it. Would you make the same post if we took James Strauss and Jayden Pitt?

And Fraser McInnes hasn't even played a single game.

Everyone at Geelong would have gladly traded those two picks for a top three pick like Melbourne got. The compensation should be based more around the quality of the player lost and less about ladder position.

Don't think Melbourne supporters would've argued with a couple of flags either.
The Demons are lucky though, because Eddie might make Gill ditch compo in the coming years.
See how Ed is feeling, it is hard to tell with Eddie, but he does make the rules.

Compo picks should be ditched as its clear as day it's a poor system

I think this proves that free agency is working really, really well.

Lake needed premiership success - he had to go to Hawthorn. McEvoy and now Frawley. I really hope Frawley gets that premiership success next year and doesn't have to wait until 2016. That wouldn't be fair if he had to wait till 2016.

I hope Hawthorn goes after Dangerfield at the end of this year too.

Equalisation, trading, free agency...all working a treat. Love it. The big question is will Hawthorn win four or five premierships in a row?
That we just have to wait and see. So exciting.

Souths - rugby league. a traditional club wins a flag. Jeez, that was bad for rugby league.

Lake and McEvoy had nothing to do with Free Agency bud

I didn't said it is all due to free agency...if you read my post I said "Equalisation, trading, free agency...all working a treat."

Players want a guarantee of premiership success... I would be going to Hawthorn too if I was at a bottom of the table club.
He basically just chose Hawthorn over Geelong /Fremantle as he knew which one was most likely to win the next two flags.

Yeah look I can't argue with that fair point.

i think you will find the hawks traded for most of their big name recruits... most clubs dont have the balls to put up 2 first round picks to get the player they need, end up pissing around all trade period for diddly squat....

hawthorn has clearly lost far more to free agency than they have gained

going by what most on here beleive, frawley is massively over-rated and not worth that much anyway....

Are you trying to say that of recent years, Hawthorn, Geelong and Collingwood aren't traditional clubs?
