Someone on the north board compared Fisher to Gary Wilson. For those of you who may not know who he was a Fitzroy superstar.I nearly fell off my chair.

Well they do have some similarities.

They both have a first and last name.

So can see the comparisons.

Easy first and only lesson, do the complete opposite of what Dodoro does…

I have seen a few time here that the Cats are interested in future picks. Is anyone able to explain why they are wanting to trade out Pick 8 this year for picks next year?

The Cats have a heap of players retiring in the next 2 years. Their list will take a lot of filling. They have no other picks of any note other than 8 this year. They need to turn it into multiple picks. Because it is a valuable commodity they could eventually turn it into 4 picks between about 15 and 35 over the next 2 drafts.

The Cats are in a fragile state list wise. Their movements will be intriguing. I don't think they can afford to spend all their currency on 1 gun.

If our list was developing I might agree. Given where we are I don't. The Top 10 is where you get the stars that step straight in

Then we add Hollands, another pick and some smart mature players like last year. IMO that's depth

Just my opinion
I agree. It’s also very young. We don’t have any players likely to retire in the next 3 years. Maybe at the end of that period Doc and Newman. During that time if we focused on top end talent we would get 6-8 players in.

We certainly have no rush for it now. Before the draft and trade period, yet post Dow and Fisher, I have only Carroll, Lemmey, Mirkov as questionable depth players. I really think depth is fine so long as injuries are decent and if they aren’t (ie if we have a horrific run)..…depth players ain’t covering that and winning us a flag. So who cares?

Keep pushing for best 22 I say. I think the Pies have shown (Hill, Mitchell and Mcstay) you can get depth players in pretty quickly. Park that for this is year.

Wonder what happens tomorrow if the Gresham bid falls through and Saints try to force a trade?
Wont fall through, the AFL will make sure the Cheats get their man and the Aints get duly compensated. Just a tweak here and there to the secret spices formula and voila', watch the magic happen.

You'd think they'd give up 2 and 17 for pick 1

That's an acceptable outcome for Reid.
make sense to me, doubt it would get it done thou.
After the bullshit they pulled with there first horrible offer I’d be demanding 2, 15 & 18 & explain to them this is what happens when u **** around. Don’t for a second believe it’s worth it, but u respond in kind when trying to negotiate in good faith & the other party is being a dick.

In 2-3 yrs North is going the have some serious cap issues, players will be pissed due to lack of opportunity & everyone will feast on their carcass as they will still be s**t.
Shinbeggars

Adelaide offered pick 10, 20 and McAdams for Petty.
Melbourne are only interested in trading Petty if it will help them get an A grade key forward and McKay is there number one target. May offer Carlton a godfather offer of picks 6 & 10 and maybe a player.

Petracca would need to be the player to make it a godfather offer
