Fair call. I guess you can’t have your cake and eat it too.

Having said that, I’d prefer a derby win if I had the choice of the two.

Darcy sound like he'll be available, Cox and Dardy fit? And have faith in the youngsters that have been playing well in practice games. I remember the team getting scorched by a young Jarrod Cameron with 4 goals and nothing could be as bad as the last Derby could it?

In all seriousness, I doubt this one is entirely on Weber, this is a joint decision by Bell, JL, Fyfe and Weber, knowing the risk.

Probably even planned on him only playing a half in the middle anyway.

They would have known there was a decent chance of it not coming up for this week and I can probably live with that given we wouldnt have won without him on the weekend. Took a gamble, it sort of paid off.

Now, if he misses anymore from than this weekend then I'll be a bit angrier

I can't think of another club that would take that risk or make that choice though.

It wasn't like last weekend was a prelim.

I just don't understand it.

Most of the recent injuries seem to be pretty well reported, Cox, Conca, Fyfe, Darcy, Sturt, Logue (less so but he's in a moonboot and it's seems safe to say he's a couple away at best and really does need time to see how things develop).

But still not much info on Young? It's a bad ankle twist but is he in contention for this week? A couple of weeks? Or looking at a longer break?

Be nice to get that first impression on the injury and recovery time. Of course it wasn't helped by Healy doing he's very best to establish it as a season (and sometimes career) ending ligament/connective tissue injury, during the live commentary.

Looking at him tonight on news it really looks like the calf cork and a shin issue that are causing him the most discomfort. The calf was padded up as much as Longmuir’s knee when he first returned from an ACL all those years ago.

Channel 9 showed the tackle in the first half which caused the trouble.

It won’t be the hamstring that holds him back for a few weeks.

I’ve been thinking the same thing. If it was serious normally the club would have released something by now.

Don’t pick on the kid with dyslexia! 😜

Hmmm. I'm as anti-Weber as it gets. But I imagine this would have been a JL, Bell, Fyfe and Weber call.

The win against the Aints has brought a lot of positivity to the club/fans. If we had been flogged and left the hub with only the one win the mood around the club and it's future would have been very grim. I actually think it was worth the risk. Hopefully it doesn't turn into a longer term issue.

We have an 8 day break to Sunday against the eagles and if we have any guys carrying niggles they should be rested until the following weekend. We have another 8 day break to Geelong. Rounds 9 to 12 will be compressed into 3 weeks. I’d settle for getting a few guys back for that block like Sturt etc if they are given proper time to heal from now.
No way should Fyfe play Sunday. Put Blakely in there instead. He’s a decent experienced replacement.

Does selling tickets to games back in Perth get easier with more wins?

If we can't sell 30,000 or even 60,000 for a derby then just pull up stumps now I reckon.

You don't risk a generational talent for a couple of extra wins in a compromised season while we are playing a bunch of youngsters.
