Hopefully JLo was having a go at him for him not following the kick-in plan. I'd much prefer that than to think JLo actually wants him to continue with those mind-numbingly stupid tactics.

No, JLo should grow up and get a proper coaching approach. Luke Ryan and Alex Pearce are not the problem. The one dimensional, inflexible and inappropriate coaching JLo is bringing to the table is the problem. No AFL head coach of so many games has ever, ever produced so many goal less or 1 goal quarters as JLo. His coaching is flawed, he has lost the key players and is intellectually bankrupt on a level only matched by Simpson, Voss and Bevo.

He just had them playing good football 2 games ago, how has he lost the key players (who are the key players) and how do we arrive at being "intellectually bankrupt" after having reasonable success last year?

He hasn't had them playing well ever this year in any game. When we have won games it has been despite JLo, not because of him. As soon as Darcy got hurt the one dimensional game plan fails, and there are no adjustments or changes in approach, either between games or during game. See, constant selection of Banfield and Hughes, constant abysmal kick in approach, constant failed midfield approach. If Serong wasn't in career best form we'd be so far back it isn't funny.

Our young star is coming into his prime should be in career best form and he was solely developed by the coach you hate. Rubbish. If Hughes is so great he can play the Ryan role, or we could swap the great and wonderous Banfield back there, or we could play Wilson, Walker, Aish or Cox in that role. Ryan is hardly irreplaceable.

The first sentence is absolutely coirrect. JLo's gameplan has been objectively worked outr by the entiure comp since round 17 last year. He adds nothing to our game plan and when we win, we win because the other mob have injuries, fail to execute or pick the wrong side, not because of anything JLo brings to the table.

I get JLo is very popular with some of the young players. That doesn't mean we win because of his game plan.

The midfield lost 12 out of 14 Clearances. They just aren't very good a reading the ball unless it is weighed heavily in their favour. The WC Eagles had the same problem years ago when Nic Nat didn't play.

Also Serong was not solely developed by a "coach I hate". JLO came in well after Serong had his habits formed.

Ross Lyon's assistants and structures were the core of Serong's first year and a half, and his training discipline. The utter hate towards Ross completely disregards how much of a rock he was in developing the habits, attitude and structures that fed Brayshaw, Young, Serong, Darcy and Clark into what they are today.

Conversely JLo is burning multiple young players just so Banfield, Hughes and JOM can keep getting games.

I'm not sure anyone still utterly hates Ross. If they did at the time it was because it was some pretty ****ing dark times. The resounding sentiment on here was that Ross was cooked, the players were cooked and everyone had to move on but he is still the best coach we've ever had

I just dont see how that extreme a position can possibly be argued short of you being a coaching savant and having worked in the club the whole year

The midfield were horribly positioned at every contest, never got adjusted by any coaching input, and were hamstrung by poor team selection and poor midfield placement. The stats say we lost almost every clearance, but to hide behind the stats and blame the players when the game plan never once changed a single time at any one of the centre bounces (and for that matter never once at any of the stoppage clearances) is just letting stats blame players not ever asking what did the coach do.
