No. Non-critical players for us that we could cover if they left. Ibbotson from within the list, and Bower for MacPhee if we decided we needed to replace him. Would of course prefer they get signed up soon, but everyone has to figure out their own destiny, and I am sure they are doing that.
McPhee >>>>> Bower

Hansen doesn't seem like much at first but he's very handy, taller than you think and can take a grab. He works hard, his career at North seems strange because I don't think they could figure out where to play him. Very similar to Bradley in that he gets under your guard and bobs up. He'd be an upgrade on anything we've got to put in the forward line next to Pav.

Well we need to grab something damn it.

Even if he doesn't prove to be the forward we need, he could become the McPharlin replacement we need. Unless they really think there's some talent in the state leagues then we need to get a Hansen/Brown/Bower into the club as well as looking to the draft. We can offer up Ibbotson/Roberton, no high picks we need a cheap hit.

Why do we NEED to grab something?
Because we can't solve our KPP issues in just this draft, I'll be surprised if we even take 3 picks our list is so tight at the moment. We've got a severe imbalance in our list, Roberton wants out and Ibbo is the weak link. If we can entice a Vic team into either of them for a KPP, win.

McPhee >>>>> Bower

He may be. But the point is that MacPhee is probably considering retiring. Unlikely to get a gig elsewhere. I am not actually advocating recruiting Bower. I don't see a big hole if MacPhee goes. He is handy and hard, and losing all of him, Ibbotson and Roberton would be an issue. hopefully that isn't the case.

If no-one wants to trade for Roberton, do you think he will sign on again, or risk the draft?

So lets look at our previous trades to get a KPP

Taz - Crap forward and we turned him in to a near AA backman
Croad - Crap forward and sent him back after a few seasons so he could win a premiership
MODRA - Was great but was at the end of his career and we all knew it

We dont have a good history with this so we should only move if the deal is right, NOT because we have to. This was proven last year when Melb came in late with a deal for Clark that we weren't prepared to match and we let it go.

You missed out McPharlin there.

We're desperate at both ends and we need to act now. I'd be fine with taking a punt on KPP from the state leagues but we've only got 1 spot on the rookie list and with about three kids coming in I'd assume through the national draft I can't see us taking more than one.

Would u guys like to see Fevola come??
His off-field problems should calm down as he matures. (Probably better now)
Main Concern is he's a bit heavy and Pav plays out of the goalsquare.
Would it be better with him in the square and Pav a little Further up forward

Red card right there. No

No thanks, but have you ever considered writing a book and selling it at Dymocks?

McPharlin was only a sweetener in the Croad deal and had only played 12 games - we didnt directly trade for him. The one I did miss was JA.

We still have Silvagni and Faulks as backup down back and Dawson is only mid 20's so we are actually better there than we are up forward, but I still stand by the fact that we dont NEED to trade for a KPF. If the deal and terms are right then we should - just not at all costs.

I wouldn't mind Hansen or Gumbleton, or even both, but all I can think of is how we missed out on Mitch Clark. Hindsight is wonderful, but now I wish we had made it a 100% done deal before Melbourne got themselves involved.

Geez KPR, you'd never make any moves if your were a list manager. Thankfully that's not the case...

thats not true. all i was pointing out was that we have eaten our own before, and better players than hansen have crumbled under the pressure. especially since the media in WA are praying that our recruits fail, just like they were praying that ross wouldnt be able to turn us around.

You want trading? id trade mzungu, c pearce and ibbotson straight away for a start

Not sure if Bondy can close a deal, tends to overly complicate or overplay his hand.

there is a fine line between paying overs and being unreasonable... personally i think bond, leans towards conservative and unreasonable, which as we have learnt from the past, is a hell of a lot better than the alternative

Tbh our own supporters pray for our recruits to fail more than the media.
