Gary Ablett crying a river over Crowley's tactics

And he earnt each and every one of them.

But yeah, Ablett shaded him on the night. Just.

Still a win for us, if that makes sense.

Yeah, I agree. You have to tag Gaz, otherwise, he'd have gone completely nuts. And Crawley did a pretty good job. I reckon Ross would be happy with Crawls' effort, but Bluey would be proud of Gaz too. To rack up 7 clearances and 28 touches at 68% despite the best tagger in the comp is very impressive.

Gaz beat Crowley easily tonight. Can only win the ball by being where the ball is which unfortunately for him isn't often in an attacking position these days.

Still won plenty of ball, used it well, kicked a goal and had an assist despite his team only kicking 7 goals in total.

He even layed 6 tackles 2 more than Crowley. To say Crowley did a job on Gaz tonight is just ridiculous.

Crowley shut him down TOTALLY in the first qtr when we got out to our lead. Forced Gazza into disposals at the boundary which meant nothing in the second quarter. Very Happy with our club champ tonight. If he can keep Swan or Pendlebury on that kind of chain next week Ill be happy

I reckon that most coaches would concede Ablett 30 and 2 goals before the game.

I still can't figure out what McKenna was doing with Swallow and O'Meara.

He'll ruin those kids imo.

Wouldn't exactly call it a win to Crowley, but i'm sure our coaching staff would be happy with how the matchup fared.
Maybe I'm glossing it up a bit, but it certainly wasn't a loss to Crowley either IMO. Gablett for all his class and his goal had little affect on the game. Gold Coast need him to assert his authority for them to win. That did not happen. Crowley played his part.

Are you saying using a number 1 draft selection and purported elite midfielder as a tagger on a hot and cold small forward isn't utilising him to his full potential? What nonsense :p

He's a terrible coach imo. And I had that impression when he coached in the WAFL.

Quarter and three quarter time he was at the players like Teddy f***ing Whitten, red-faced, eyes-bulging.

Just bullshit to a young group on the up and up.

Playing young guns clearly out of position.

How is that developing young players effectively?

And after the game, sitting in the box looking like a lost child.

He'll be gone at years end I reckon.

If Pendles is given that much chain next week he will destroy you.

That's cute bro, maybe you should watch the game next time.

He did get a bit of the ball but most of it was in the clinches. I'd say that is because Crowley gave him little space. And since it would seem that you are basing your comments purely off the stats, it's a pity you didn't look closer. If you had, you would've noticed the following:
  • Ablett's DE was 68% - part of which can be attributed to the fact that he was under constant pressure when getting rid of the ball.
  • Ablett had 3 FAs whereas Crowley had 0 - no doubt attributed to Crowley's cleaner style of play ;)
  • Ablett had 5 clangers - Crowley none.

Ablett got a bunch of touches that while they're measured as effective, they weren't the type to cut us up. We'll take that every time. onya crawley ;)
