There are some very good highlights of Billy Goggin put on the you tube a couple of weeks back , actually alot of players from that era , their highlights were also put up in the same exercise

I cant do the link , but hopefully someone can do that ,just google Billy Goggin You Tube highlights and they will come up , so others can see how skillful Goggin was , he absolutely fed Wade with brilliant stab passes

As good as those highlights are , they left his best ever goal out , 10 minutes into the 1st qtr of the 67 GF , one of the great GF goals of all time so pretty dissappointing they didnt include it in his highlight reel

So many of these past players I only heard of and never really took much notice but as more vision is unearthed, you really begin to appreciate their careers. Bobby Davis was always a larrikin. Had a funny running gate and sounded like a parrot but in recent years, highlights from his playing days are available and he looks to have been an absolute champion. Obviously he was, given an induction into the Geelong Team of the Century. He would probably slot in perfectly well in today's footballing era of a free flowing-high paced brand.

My favourite Cat before Turner

Re Goggin, Billy's stab passes were brilliant; best exponent of them that I've seen, as he was always at full pace, and would hit Wade on the chest every time. Spent countless hours trying to emulate that skill.

You know when you are getting old when you can remember watching Billy Goggin play at Kardinia Park.

I hear you The rabbi
Lived in Melbourne in those days so didn't get to KP until I had a licence.
Fondly remember watching the Cats at the G and Windy Hill as a youngster though , Wade kicking torps for goal , Farmer and Billy doing their thing and the centreline of Polinelli / Marshall / Closter creating havoc...............

Hey Vdubs how about doing us another favour , when i watched Goggins You Tube highlights about a week or so back , then Dennis Marshalls highlights came up - ive never seen that vision before , absolutely fantastic , a really silky mover Marshall , 2nd in a Brownlow of course

Thus it would be great if you could put up Marshallls highlights , like you did with Goggin

A lot to like in that side you picked VD I'd have probable gone for Bartel over Marshall in the centre.

For sure, in retrospect, Blakey only had 1-2 super years, so will edit this. Polly is a no-brainer
