You forget im a geelong supporter. Making finals and eventually being knocked out is way way more fun usually then not making finals and finishing 9 to 14th. I have lots of experience here. Hell as a geelong supporter my favourite season is one in which we didnt even win the flag.

And im assuming finishing bottom 4 and your season being over by round 6 is even worse again them finishing 9th to 14th. Although I have no experience here so Im just using logic.

Joy is what football is about. Its what anything is about to be honest. And if the joy experienced across the season is different for finals team vs those who dont make it then finishing higher but not winning flags certainly means something.

Your argument that finishing second and 18th is no different can only be true if you experience no joy in actually watching football and only experience joy after the final siren on grand final day if your team wins. And if thats true its incredibly sad. But since you say its not true then you have just admitted your argument over numerous pages was wrong. Ive snookered you here. Checkmate.

Vfl zoning days dont count, as success was based on location rather than being a well run club. Richmond has struggled badly in the modern professional AFL national era to be successful

Geelong supporters had alot of enjoyment from our season. Finished third, made a prelim, had the rising star winner.
