He has serious personal issues and a monster contract but ability and credentials wise (2x Coaches award winner, 4x B&F), Oliver is the best player to move clubs since Buddy. What is being proposed as the trade price (about pick 20 after bids) is a joke.
What annoys me most is that Jay Clark is born and bred Geelong. It's the type of clearly club biased reporting that the AFL has always had a serious problem with, it shows in every West Australian article, every Slobbo Herald Sun article, every Kane Cornes piece. Unbiased reporting would be asking why this is happening, not parroting club lines about value and treating it as a foregone conclusion.

To top it off they will do a dodgy under the table deal for Smith.

Geelong have many media puppets - Mitch Cleary, Gerard Whatley, Anthony Hudson, Bec Madden. That ****ing local newspaper is like 45 pages of crap about the cats.

Impossible to disagree with Kane there. Melbourne is a total basket case. They are the most poorly run club in the competition.

I do hope this is true as would hate for Geelong to be gifted a player of Oliver’s talent

Yep, Cornes is writing some good stuff.

It's hard to imagine a club being in more disarray than the poor old Dees this year.
Their culture absolutely shredded.
Their best players seriously p*ssed off and wanting to leave (some already have).
A president stuffing up and not even reaching out to a player who was in ICU and who nearly died - at any stage during his long and difficult recovery.
That president resigning (in disgrace).
Captain Max Gawn being repeatedly pushed out to the media all year and having to say (lie) "All's good, nothing to see here".
Their CEO ringing around to see if they can get a trade for Oliver (who they had put on a 6 year $8 mill contract  )
Irate members threatening revolution. Tonight the board will back track at the AGM before angry members and say Oliver's a favourite son and is not for sale!).

CEO Pert announcing a complete review of the club's disastrous last few years - under his reign as CEO - by an independent panel (Pert will be one of the 3 panel members ).

Compared to this ongoing fiasco, St Kilda looks like a well managed club !

Yep, and don’t forget the litigation involving the former president who tried to fix cultural concerns, only to be driven out and then those at the club backgrounding the media to defame him. When he was now very obviously right.

Plus the very obvious leaks and backgrounding on “brand Petracca” and Oliver’s issues when it suits them. Horrendously run operation.
