Without knowing what the discussion between the two clubs I'd be holding very firm if I was Wells with regard to this trade. He can't possibly go back there next year. He only wants to come to us and will only play a season or two. If we don't have any players prepared to move up north then I'd be only offering a pick in the 40's or lower. They can accept that or get stuffed.

Absolutely agree. I think the compromise is a 2018 3rd rounder or something like that but beyond that i would walk away.

Hope so. We just need to realise that we should be playing him only in 15 games a year (including finals). Keep him fresh and he'll play his best footy. Get three other small forwards to apply the forward pressure.

He's worth that, kicked more goals than any Hawfie, Carlton, Collingwood, Freo, St Kilda and Bulldogs player and if you go by games/goals average you could add a few more teams to that list. Only 5 less goals than Toby Green.

I'd like him to stay.

He's worth staying but not on a multi year deal given his knees.

I agree, I think he is an absolutely perfect fit should we get it done.
Plenty bagged shit out of us getting Hendo when that happened, and he has been very good for us... this will be exactly the same IMO

Zero. Ballenden probably gets bid in that range so they wont want a pick there. You would need to get band 1 compo for motlop (pick 16) and then try and flip 16 and 20 to a club for a top 10 pick and on trade that to Brisbane. Very unlikely doubt it happens.

Agree that it will be very difficult but I’d move heaven and earth to get it done. Schache should be our number one priority, IMO.
