I understand your point but I disagree. Caddy’s role might not be specifically to apply pressure but he still does - he averaged three tackles a game in 2018. Menzel is a liability once the ball hits the deck.

Goals are important, of course, but anyone that has played at any decent level knows that it’s the responsibility of all 22 players to apply pressure. If you have the ball 30 times in a game then the ball is in your hands for maybe 1min in total for the whole game - what you do when you don’t have the ball is extremely important.

I understand what you’re saying, and I would absolutely love it if Menz pressured more but unfortunately he can’t. I just think that his goalkicking (his main role) outweighs his lack of pressure & that’s just where we disagree

Also what he does with the ball when up the field at times is very good as well, which (if he stays at Geelong) he might find himself doing a bit more with Hawkins & Ratugolea being our two tall forwards. I understand he doesn’t get a whole lot of the ball, usually 8-15 touches a game, but I think back to that Melbourne game where Menzel hit that inboard kick to Hawkins which led to the Tuohy matchwinner, none of our small pressure forwards could’ve hit that kick if for example we had picked one of them in the team instead of Menzel, the ball would’ve spilled to the ground & we would’ve lost & probably not made the finals, so he brings that x-factor with the ball even when not inside 50 being a beautiful field kick too.

Well they need to pick better 'specialists' it seems. Again IF what he is saying is true.

I’m sure he’s telling the truth, Geelong definitely need to review their own medical staff but also the specialists that they see for major injuries & surgery.

Menzel was worth the experiment, but he just can't last a full season. Lets get in Gary instead! Murdoch was done 2 seasons ago. We wasted Horlin Smith's time. Hope he makes it elswhere. ****ing hope he stars. Lincoln McCarthy, for all his talent, would need to be the luckiest AFL footballer around to still be sought after. Good on him.

I am staggered we would get rid of Jordan Murdoch and bring in Gary Rohan. For mine Murdoch is actually better. Given they both do have their flaws.

Over the last 2 seasons for starters Rohan has played 27 games Murdoch 38 games.

Statistslly Murdoch is far superior.

Murdoch averaged 1 more tackle in each of the last 2 seasons than Rohan..

If you look at the stats overall there isn't a lot separating the 2.

But clearly Murdoch gets more of the ball and uses it better.

Why we are looking at Rohan is beyond me.

Stats don't always show everything, Rohan is far more likely to provide 2 or 3 moments of brilliance and win you a game.

If the WB sign Menzel as a FA it would impact the compensation they receive for losing Dahlhaus. WB currently have 4th round picks of 59 & 60 - they might prefer to offer one of them in a trade for Menzel, and that'd help us with points for f&s bidding or maybe use it to improve a trade outcome for McCarthy

On what grounds? Negligence would be a hard sell unless you could prove any reasonable surgeon would not have done the same thing, as he continued to get paid despite rehabbing. Lost potential earnings, maybe.

And before you keyboard warriors chime in saying “how could it not be”, you know nothing about the situation other than Gregson’s assessment, so are firing blind.

Reasonable practise within industry standard. Of course Corey would have signed the procedure but his understanding forming part of informed consent. Its one thing to be unhappy with outcome and another to be unhappy with the performance of the procedure.

Yes and they asll tend to use the same ones. In otherwords there isn't a Geelong foot specialist. They will be referred however by the club medical crew.
